My antivirus scanner says that the Windows wallet contains a Trojan Horse.

False positive.

It's fairly common with Windows wallets. Either take your chances with it or not. Also, take a look here https://chainz.cryptoid.info/tor/#!wallets at the whopping 20 wallets, including the 5 that belong to OP and 2 on Exchanges, that are active in the block chain. I'm sure if there was an actual Trojan Horse that one of them would have posted about it by now.

I have a lot of Windows wallets, but I have never gotten this message before.

I've seen it a few times in the past, back in 2013 when I first tried my hand at mining. It's possible that the codebase for this coin is copied from an older codebase and that is why it is registering as a Trojan. I know some people mentioned it earlier in this thread, but I haven't seen any complaints since.

Can't blame you for playing it safe. If OP wants more adoption of his coin, hopefully he'll have his new devs address that issue and fix it.

bunch of retards buying torcoin when posw is 20 cents and climbing to 20 dollars. torcoin will dump as soon as the scammer running it decides to run, he is providing no service, has no real contact with people and is literally 100% vapor. this has been done before.

torcoin isnt even affiliated with TOR.

You're wrong, it does provide a service, a real value. Unlike most other altcoins this one actually has actual value. It's the first crypto routed through the tor network. If it gets picked up for that reason alone - which it very well could - it will be huge.

@Poison completely agree with you.

It is clear that this project is born from a rational inspiration that aims above all to offer
a specific service that I hope the team is organizing everything to perfect all the various
important
aspects before. We are talking about technology here and it is what we are
buying that is the most important thing and I hope it is the main objective even though
it is clear like water here is growing slowly together and we are all part of it.

I sincerely prefer TorCoin in this way because even looking a bit
disorganized and improvised and everything seems like a lie is more transparent than most,
they propose a well presented product following all the best strategic aspects to sell
that can be known for Persuade everyone and at the end are more beautiful words than
anything else.

I do not know the boss behind this and I'm not defending him, but I see his willingness to be
sincere and the will to create a good product together with a united network for the good of all
who are mainly behind money more than anything else.

I understand many and the fear of being cheated, but I believe that everything is being born as
the best projects are born — improvising and perfecting all together as for example teaches
Steve job.

Maybe I'm just blind and a bit naive but I care, I'll try not to cry if I'm wrong — best regards.

Hey @Bumba, is there probably any problem with the TorCoin-Qt wallet?
Sincerely I simply do trading in general and do business online, so I am
not practical with this of mine coins with programs like TorCoin-Qt.

I understand that running BitCoin-Qt is totally important to the network
and I want to contribute to this while I earn some TorCoins but I think
there are some malfunctions of the program in general so it does not allow
staking as it should be.

Taking a look around Torcoin-Qt I realize that these could be some of the
reasons why it is not yet possible to me start staking after more than 36 hours:

  • The network traffic may be slow, at the moment this is working with
some In: movements of 17MB and about 6MB Out movements, I do not
know if it is good and what this is related to, but I believe this is slow.
  • In the debug window I notice that there are lots of messages like these:

-trying connection 91.14.3.11:23669 lastseen=90.0hrs connection timeout

    -trying connection 179.55.236.204:23669 lastseen=3.1hrs
    CTxMemPool::accept() : accepted 5e01f1091f (poolsz 1)
    connection timeout
connect() failed after select(): Connection refused

    -Flushing wallet.dat
    Flushed wallet.dat 276ms
    connection timeout

    -Flushed 585 addresses to peers.dat  2ms
    trying connection 100.33.157.128:23669 lastseen=10.2hrs
    connection timeout

Tons of these ... almost all!!!  Angry Angry

There is something wrong here, do you guys think you know a solution? I think
this affair negatively affects the network and that I will not be able to mine a coin ever...

Any help please??

different code bases generate different output into the debug.log, that output looks pretty normal.

i had a look at this transaction, it took ~24hours for 88 coins to stake, how does that compare to yr value?

Hi, I want to support this project by mining, but I'm having a serious issue with compiling on Ubunt - from sudo qmake onwards in the instructions on 1st page of this sub.
Would anyone be able to help?

I would love to have Torcoin traded on Bittrex.

They won't take a bribe though, believe me I tried :-)

They want people to email them requesting TorCoin to be added to bittrex and to retweet my tweets.

That's the only way.

If TorCoin got added to Bittrex the price would jump probably a couple dollars on the news alone.

Please submit as many requests to Bittrex as possible here:
https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

If there is enough demand they will presumably list the coin.

OP, coinmarketcap still shows old Torcoin. When will this be fixed?

They won't de-list the old (long dead) 2014 version of TorCoin because they have a bunch of hyperlinks within their site pointing to it.  I already messaged them about that.

However, I agree it is really confusing.  If enough people email them asking them to de-list the old coin, I suspect they will eventually listen.

I sent them another email .. maybe they will take action this time. I agree it is really confusing have that old version listed on CoinMarketCap.  I offered to pay a fee to have them de-list the old version ..

hey folks, I've had a lot of requests for a paper wallet generator for TorCoin. If anyone wants to work on that, email me at TorCoin@Protonmail.com and I may add you to the Slack dev team if you have the requisite skills.
