If Bitmain is still selling them they HAVE to be a good buy right? RIGHT what is wrong with them. From a marketing standpoint. I get economy but what they are doing is blowing my understanding of a functioning market lol

The only people going to see Lambos in crypto is bitmaintech. I find it so interesting how the gold rush just like in 1800’s California went to those selling the shovels.   They give two shits how many shovels they sell also whether or not you dig one spec of gold.  They done made out like bandits.  I’d say at this point crypto needs to drop right on down to zero$.  A real purge of sorts.  Give the greedy a little taste of how this system is designed!  A good upheaval of the ponzis and shady exchanges.  I really hope we see a continued bear market.  It’s def showing what most are here for   Profit only!  There is more to the crypto movement than profits! one must see the forest thru the trees once in a while.

BR

As in nature, all is ebb and tide, all is wave motion, so it seems that in all branches of industry, alternating currents - electric wave motion - will have the sway. ~Nikola Tesla~

I believe bitmain paid in advance for chips. These are non-refundable. And now they have to slash prices greatly to clear inventory. Basically, they making the whole market pay for their mistake...

The crazy thing is it seems canaan is gonna IPO to raise money to do the same. I read about it somewhere. They get to lower price if they pay for inventory in advance I think. It is madness really...

Selling 100 dollar coupons (8units expire 11th June, 14 units expire 1st july) and 125 dollar coupon (2 unit exp 30th June). Selling at 20% of value

I dont think there is a new L3+ and there probably wont be any new ones. There is no incentive to spend so much to develop new miners when the price have gone down so much. The risk wont payoff and will probably lead to losses. It is probably the same with the S9.

Don’t forget chip dev times lag by at least 6mo to 1yr. Just because prices don’t make sense now does not mean they weren’t spending millions for R&D when they were selling L3s by the thousands. Bitmain was certainly working on 16nm for scrypt after they shipped the L3’s. I’m already working with a 22nm 1w/mh chip.

yeah, but if u have 0.04 cents like they have in canada, its still profitable, and u can save ltc and sell them when it hits some 150 etc..

And even more so in the 2 counties of the US where you can get to 3 cent power.

NOTE: > misread and used 3c kWh for electric from your Canada post..but did not see this till below was done..thus going with it FYI.

this is from the Litecoin Pool Calculator a free pool that pays out at 101% FYI

https://www.litecoinpool.org/calc

right now a 500mh 800 watt Bitmain L3+ miner is a NEG -$0.74 loss...with current difficulty drop (was a NEG -$0.86 loss)

also, remember if they say 3c kWh with fees in a data hall etc ..it will always be 1 or 2c more..or 4-5c ..but let's use your number of 3c kWh

at current $75 LTC even you would make $1.37 a day. x 30 days is $41.19 per miner...but being a data hall they may ask for 6 months pre-pay

let's say you get a month to month...setup lets say is $50 and prepay a month say of electric of say $20 ..so you double your money

24 hours   0.02598539 LTC   1.95 USD   0.58 USD   1.37 USD
7 days   0.18189773 LTC   13.64 USD   4.03 USD   9.61 USD
30 days   0.77956172 LTC   58.47 USD   17.28 USD   41.19 USD

Now in my case, it would be 8000mh and 12,800 watts at 3c kWh...it would be likely 800 bucks min to set up and pay about

at your 3c rate, I should do this immediately

24 hours   0.41576625 LTC   31.18 USD   9.22 USD   21.97 USD
7 days   2.91036375 LTC   218.28 USD   64.51 USD   153.77 USD
30 days   12.47298750 LTC   935.47 USD   276.48 USD   658.99 U

alas, the best data hall rates I've seen a month to month is 8.5c kWh

so the reality with fees/elec/hosting/etc in Canada or elsewhere I see the following below..sure 6.5c kWh elec exist or lower..but those data

halls are filled...if they become unfilled it will be due to the fact 6.5c a kWh won't cut it anymore..which defeats our purposes here on these calcs

again an L3+ does below at 8.5c kWh with all fees/etc/hosting...but IF you found such...6 month usually is what they want..again may have changed

be sure to contact me if so...especially the 0.03c kWh...but what I'm going with..again assume you can get month to month and not even these are filled

at the 8.5c kWh electric rate

24 hours   0.02598539 LTC   1.95 USD   1.63 USD   0.32 USD
7 days   0.18189773 LTC   13.64 USD   11.42 USD   2.22 USD
30 days   0.77956172 LTC   58.47 USD   48.96 USD   9.51 USD

with my 8000mh at 12,800 watts, I'd make $152.11 for a $935.47 pre-pay of a month to month if I could find an empty data hall at that rate

for a $152.11 profit (maybe..depending on the month)

24 hours   0.41576625 LTC   31.18 USD   26.11 USD   5.07 USD
7 days   2.91036375 LTC   218.28 USD   182.78 USD   35.49 USD
30 days   12.47298750 LTC   935.47 USD   783.36 USD   152.11 USD

thus NOT really worth it, because again

1) everyone has the same miners, 90% of all scrypt-pow miners still running are Bitmain L3+'s thus diff goes down on the LTC 3 day cycle you see a 20%

rise say and then the next cycle a 20% down...for MOST folk above this 8.5c kWh at the 12c kWh national average for the summer...you go up and down

on the whims of the 90% with NO piece of equipment having an advantage over the other ...all underwater (at least above say 8.5c kWh /hosting and fees)

2) Bitmain is likely coming out with the supposed 3x the hash at close to the same watts miner in July/August..thus all L3+'s will be doorstops in a couple months

3) you can't find a data hall at even a 10c kWh with fees price IMHO that is NOT full.....or so it seems to me

so, by all means, any with 3c kWh electric with fees and hosting and such...on a month to month prepay format CALL ME NOW ...i will be your minion!

at a say 6c kWh electric call me also....but you would be my 2nd prom choice

8.5c kWh...don't bother to pm me...

and at my 14c kWh I'm currently shutting off my 8,000mh at 12,800 watts....lose my phone number and other info ASAP

again, hope I'm wrong and SOMEONE WANTS ME..but I expect I'm too fat (8000mh) and eat too much (12,800 watts) and expect only a month to month

rental...and put out a LOT of heat for a data hall this summer...just don't see it likely for scrypt-pow coins and or LTC

again, if I am wrong..PM ME!

(there will be flowers and candy and courtship)...

but alas, I suspect my scrypt-pow miners (L3's and L3+'s 18 of them ...and equiv to 16 L3+'s at 8,000mh and 12,800 watts) are not 'attractive anymore'

unless I want to jump in for a 6-month lease (or in my case at about say 5K pre-pay) AND EXPECTING new Bitmain units

oops...not gonna happen

hope again such 3c kWh month to month exists someplace (that is not a scam..how to prove..hmmm?Huh?)

but while I like Unicorns...they don't exist..thus feel the same about my odds here...they are the same as me being Natalie Portman's Love Puppet

....I can hope for Both..but I'm not holding my breath Sad

If you are looking for a hosting facility at approx the rates you qouted that is not full I have one I can suggest to you. I just picked up 22 L3+'s and I did not put machines in their place and I did not reserve all of it so there is some space + they are currently adding 1mw.

but while I like Unicorns...they don't exist..thus feel the same about my odds here...they are the same as me being Natalie Portman's Love Puppet

....I can hope for Both..but I'm not holding my breath Sad

If you are looking for a hosting facility at approx the rates you qouted that is not full I have one I can suggest to you. I just picked up 22 L3+'s and I did not put machines in their place and I did not reserve all of it so there is some space + they are currently adding 1mw.

Where to find such a place?  Long term contracts?  What are the specifics?

I kinda doubt it. No offense but even if u get a better NM, u probably cant sell it cheap enough like bitmain can. Bitmain S9 is still better than T1 after all. L3+ is still the best and Inno's litecoin miner which is already at 16nm cannot beat L3+ 28nm anyways. It is too expensive. No point wasting money on it especially when the  underlying coin isnt gaining huge value.

Just my 2 cents.

Selling 100 dollar coupons (8units expire 11th June, 14 units expire 1st july) and 125 dollar coupon (2 unit exp 30th June). Selling at 20% of value

Yea well I'm already invested, and what I'm trying to build is something both these Chinese companies, that care only for the cents they can make and their huge farm customers, can't. And thats a home miner designed for homer miners and a way to further decentralize these networks. Yea I can't compete at the dollar/mh value, but people should find way more value in what I'm building and if they don't, oh well.

Well...my stuff is getting shut off today or on July 1st probably...may run till the July 5th due to the Holiday...but that's it...I expect in the USA where the average

electric rate is 12c kWh ...that MANY will pull the trigger by July 4th....so congrats to those with less than 6c a kWh...not that it will make you a LOT of money

Stuff getting shut off 4 L3's and 14 L3+'s for equiv hash of 16 L3+'s at 8,000mh and 12,800 watts at 14c kWh (with data hall rent) at current LT.C price of $80.00

but some over electric. So seems it is just like BTC Hobby mining in 2014....kaput now...I can't see scrypt-pow coming back in a big way ..with 90% of all equipment

worth running at the pow-scrypt difficulties and LTC difficulties..no one has an advantage...thus ...in the case of LTC they will come and go, being turned on like the

tide every 3 days for diff change....(LTC) ...and eventually all this will be underwater vs electric costs and they will all fade...leaving Bitmain (with cheap elec and

the 20% cost on $1.00 for equipment they have to pay on top of that...eventually ending up on top...and this is NOT saying they have new scrypt-pow equip Bitmain

will mine over the summer with 'crumbs' of pre-orders in the fall. Sorry, at $80 an LTC it has never made more sense to just HODL your crypto of choice rather

then get any type of miner equipment....add data halls wanting at LEAST a month up front or 6-month contract...(and a lot are already full) this seems to be

pretty much wrapped up. My real concern is IF Bitmain at more or less the same watts...and they mine all summer and pre-order in the

fall, they would raise pow-scrypt and LTC ..what 30% on top of what it is now? Then expect us to get miners in the fall after they own scrypt-pow for the summer?

I myself will not be 'enthused' and will not play that game, either in getting LTC or scrypt-pow coins or equipment..till I get a clear view of what this would mean.

So I'm out. Have 2 ASIC's in the bsmt mining sh*tcoin, that on paper show a profit (not Bitmain scrypt-pow units) ..but they likely will go off soon too..

what the heck, its only money (crypto) right?

was a heck of a run from 2013 till now...made me a crapload of crypto...but, looks like it is POS coins like LISK if I want anything monthly in the tank from now on.

yeah, but if u have 0.04 cents like they have in canada, its still profitable, and u can save ltc and sell them when it hits some 150 etc..

And even more so in the 2 counties of the US where you can get to 3 cent power.

hope again such 3c kWh month to month exists someplace (that is not a scam..how to prove..hmmm?Huh?)

I didn't say "data hall" or "hosting" - I was talking actual electric all-cost-included rates in Chelan and Douglas counties of Washington State for residential and small business - though Chelan in particular seems to be getting unhappy about cryptocoin miners flocking there for the cheap power and it's effect on their infrastructure and BOTH have a "moratorium" in place on new larger operations (Gigawatt seems to have slipped in just before that moratorium hit with their Douglas county/East Wenatchee facility).

Grant county next door is at about 4.7 after the last rate increase, and is a lot less restrictive "so far", but appears to be starting to make some effort to force cryptocoin operations to pay a higher rate "sometime soon" for similar reasons.

For folks paying AVERAGE US rates or worse, I'd figure a lot have already shut down at least some mining gear as it has gone underwater already.
I suspect this is a lot of the reason that DASH hashrate in specific (among others) has seen a noticeable drop over the last few months since the prices collapsed.

well..if I can't host 18 miners (4 L3's and 14 L3+'s)without a data hall solution...so it does not matter I guess...so my only solution would be to sell

my miners to folk in those areas who could pop one or two up in the garage or something (shed?) because they get those rates w/o data hall issues....

so pm me...I can sell bit by bit to folk in such areas...but for me...
..
looks like I'm stuck with doorstops...too many for anyone to run, in that area, unless they buy my stuff.

sheesh....(not even sure what to charge with PSU)

@Searing why the strange spacing on all of your posts? Makes it hard to read.

I get it both ways.my spacing is either 1) too hard to read because I type as fast as I think (ie too long)
or
they like the spacing for the same reason as above (i type as fast as I think..thus too long)
maybe, I'll go back to the other way and compress again....but likely will get blowback from that ..which is why I added spacing to the first place
(then again, why anyone thinks I have a clue on wtf is going on in crypto and wants to read my posts is mind-boggling anyway...I be clueless!)

makes sense if as most of us suspect the L3++ is just an 'already overclocked' L3+..then all the problems above and flakiness makes perfect sense....another Bitmain gimmick

that has likely come to light Smiley Just my view...but when we tried overclocking...seems to be the same symptoms...so went back to L3+ baseline
So, it is just marketing lol.
I have a friend owns a data hall that experimented with the L3++ software on his L3+ (one) and it worked fine... he has not done anymore as of yet.

probably the voltage mod (free) further up in the thread is more practical with the same result as what my friend ' tweaked', as mentioned above.

Me, at 14c kWh...don't matter much ...I need like $115 LTC at this difficulty rate (unlikely with such a price pump, with OFF bitmain L3+'s piling back in.

14c kWh is just a way, way, step too far, at this point in time/even the $115 LTC price/ and difficulty....(screwed, I am) Sad

Good luck to those with less than 8c kWh electric. Me, 'kaput' Sad

st6op being such a negative person, u can buy L3 at hashnest, rate is 0.07 usd per kwh, so with the pricve now going up, u will get it back, better then hold LTC, i dont hold LTC, i hold only neos, and i ahve problem bcs neos are doing more then LTC + mining plus hashrate going up, thats the problem, only plus i see, but if things turn south, neo will drop more then LTC...so dont be pitty, i got already 4100Mhz, and doing preety good, still neo does better.

What is a Payout Accelerated Cloud Mining Contract (PACMiC)?

The PACMiC is a new value-added cloud mining service product from Hashnest. The PACMiC is an electronic contract structured in a new way. BITMAIN will pay all the maintaining cost of the mining rigs, and all the mining revenue will be used to pay back the PACMiC owners. When the principal is not fully paid back, it will share profit with buyers. When the principal is paid back, the mining rigs will belong to BITMAIN. Both principal and profit payments will be made to the contract holder based on the mining revenues of AntPool. Since PACMiC will not bear the maintenance cost, so the payout is accelerated.

Purchasing a PACMiC

In the initial sales open day, one PACMiC will be sold for one (1) bitcoin. Each PACMiC represents six terahash of hashing power. The contract will become active immediately upon receipt of full payment.

Computing principal and profit of an PACMiC

As soon as the PACMiC is activated, payouts will be made through Hashnest in accordance with the mining revenues generated by AntPool’s PPLNS payout method. Profit payments will be made beginning with the first block found by AntPool after the contract’s activation. From the first block until the contract’s expiry, profit will be accumulated every second.
