I still have mine running from last year, but I would not have bought after the July batch I got unless prices would have been the same (around 1500$ back then).

For those of you mining litecoin with L3+, how much litecoin are you ACTUALLY generating per day? And have there been any sharp decreases in this amount? I don't want links to profit calculators please...

I'm debating whether or not to buy more L3+'s vs S9's given the lower cost of the L3+s. The breakdown I was thinking is either:

(18) L3+'s and (10) S9's

Or just go all in with 40 L3+'s

Profits seem to be about the same compared to an S9 and, at about half the price, seems like a better investment (esp considering electricity demands of the units). I'm making about .0011 BTC per day on each of my two S9's (about $22/day).

I assume you meant about $11/day each = $22/day total...

I haven't gotten my L3 yet but I've followed mining for a while.  At one point in the not so distant past the S9 was pulling in $30+/day, at that time L3s were bringing <$20/day since bitcoin pretty much leads the pack most of the time and litecoin hadn't increased in value as much.
The L3 seems to be holding pretty well in the  ~$10-20/day range, while the S9 fluctuated from ~$10-30/day range. All that being said, I personally like the fact that the L3 isn't as power hungry, and I like the litecoin project so I'm going to give it a shot. 

I think you will make more over time if you went S9 unless there is a huge influx of next generation miners before you ROI...

Great..so the frigging coupons I have from last fall are likely ONLY good till June if lucky July 2018...even this miner perk seems also to be 'illusion city' in reality

my thoughts are they mined (at least mostly L3+'s from what I can tell) (again all this is IMHO) ...anyway they mined the heck out of stuff from Jan till March/April...

hell...probably from Dec thru March/April....then all the $$$ collected for these units to clear out...they dump april/may in a mass dump...when 3 months in the consumers

can get the  mainly L3+ ASIC miners........then they use the revenue from the say Dec to March/April dump of BCH $$$ to them to help tide them over..for the next 2-3 months as they

ramp up the plant for NEW better ASIC equipment (outside of China asap).. for less power and maybe over 1TB units ..there are rumors about...they THEN use those units to fill the data

halls OUTSIDE of China ...cutting most if not all strings...or at least for newer miners they now have.....old equipment dumped....mainly in the March/April 'splash' to consumers.....and again

as per usual...they mine the new equipment over the summer ...in their NEW outside of China data halls and announce consumer version

say around Sept/Oct (pre-orders of course 3 months again ...like they did for Dec thru March)...and it is win/win/win again for bitmain (bitmain: we do evil well!) (tm:bitmain)

rinse/wash/repeat

(also under my above 'hopefully' fantasy....my coupons ($200 bucks) would expire before being able to be used on new asic equip..should I choose to play

this game again with bitmain of 'catch the falling knife on ROI' game...in the fall ...at god knows what difficulty from the above march/april and new equip data halls churning thru summer

in the fall of 2018.....slim pikins likely..

all above is unlikely....but bitmain has done trickier things then my above 'hopeful' fiction...just saying....its how they roll!

So timing being everything, and bitmain with 90% of asic equipment of 'many flavors' ....(plus the damn crummy web site and 3am purchasing of 10 min window)....things

might be 'damn slim' for NON-dubious asic scrypt-pow equipment....then again I suppose, as long as I am wishing I can HOPE for $400 LTC and run what I have into fall

In the past, you would need to submit a new order and then pay for everything except the $600 that you already have credited. Then you would submit a ticket asking for the $600 to be credited to the specific order.

my view however

1) Bitmain mines the hell out of stuff from Jan to March/April when it allows a MASS DUMP of L3+'s to ship during that time frame...loving that pre-order BCH etc

2) Bitmain say around MAY (still dumping OLD generation ASIC's or both BTC and LTC favor)....announces new ASIC's in the fall..say 1TB 400watts or some such)

and at around MAY, last of L3+'s trickle out and/or other asic's of other flavors....all trickle to the end....sale site now empty

3) Bitmain then, with pre-order money and only its own equip to use for itself (of any asic flavor)  mines like hell with its NEW generation equipment in data halls from say around May/June

when consumers start to get the new stuff in  Sept/Oct...till then all bitmain, slaming difficulty up of many flavors of protocols and scrypt-pow (er maybe not x11 heh, already dead)

4) Thus in a 9 month or so period you will RECIEVE your pre-paid scrypt-pow miners all at the same time ...about 1 month March/April and 1 month say Sept/0ct

with the other months all bitmain all balls to the wall....w/o anybody but themeselves really slam'ing difficulty up in mass.

5) also notice these coupons as they try to move the last of the old stock L3+'s etc are NO GOOD after MAY ..another attempt to move out old stock for new in a pre-order manner

without any 'benifit' of these coupons being used..for fall say, new generation equipment...thus expect the new asic generation equipment to be announced after the coupons expire (June I

think that would be)

$25 then from like $8 bucks or some such...(if I remember correctly) due to a 'firmware error' and they then mined them for 6 weeks...and I got them 8 weeks later...well

a bit of suspicion don't ya know..especially when the firmware was labeled YET January 2017...

Add all the other 'games' they have played 'since' last summer of 2017..and you begin to 'suspect' a worldwide evil genius plan.....

also ..beware of bitmain 'giving coupon' from last year...it is a 'trap' of some sort that will become apparent...

If theory I have seen about coupons expiring before you can order next generation machine, then we may be safe on current generation for 6 months.  I think my coupons expiring end of June if I remember correctly.  So if you figure order July 1 arrive September.  That would be worst case.  Though maybe we'll see a decred miner before that?  Just thinking next gen for L3.
