I was all amd I shifted to mostly nvidia
making 50 bucks a day so every 14 days I pay off 1 1080ti
so far 3 1080 ti"s are paid for.
Not sure how long the roll will last but just 28 more days means 5 1080 ti's will be paid for.
with BTC this high.... my group's mining ROI became even faster.... so I expanded to a 2nd GPU farm. |

I guess I might have a slight problem.  If you are undervolting, try to increase the voltage. If you are overclocking, reduce it. Try with almost stock settings, memory error should be in a way smaller order of magnitude (<1000/minute) |

Regards, BLife @ BLife it is a true 2 slot card the aorus is a 3 slot card since most of my gear is slot based not riser based the aorus is harder to fit.@ citronick that board looks pretty good my findings on the z270 gigabyte boards show me 5 cards are easy peasy never got around to testing six. that board has spacing issues compare it to the z170 not so easy to do 4 galax katana 1070 with proper spacing  easy peasy four galax katana 1070's for the z170 and I have 5 or six on hand  |

Im liking that board better personally. Most of the time, if you go over 3-4 GPU, you'll want risers and better spacing anyways. If I buy a newer generation board, I may go after that one.... |

What I like about the GTX9, is you could use full ribbon risers to have a clean rig with space. my ? are ribbon risers better then power risers?  That should be GT9. I had GTX 1080 Ti on my mind.  ribbon riser = bad powered risers = good Another ?. when the Vega comes out, would it be better to use a AMD mobo, or a intel ? don't know as a high end AMD cpu = $$$ but it may mine xmr well as the vega mines zec or eth Another ?. I'm looking at the GTX 1080 Ti. The price range from 1 fan (lowest) to 3 fans (highest). If you factor in spacing, can you benefit by 1 fan. or am I missing something? . so far I think I like msi aero 1 fan cards founder edition 1 fan are not as good. I have 1 3 fan gigabyte aorus it is too wide. BTW please do not multi post 2 or 3 or more in a row. I deleted them for space. |

I dont have a ton of rigs but I dont think something like this would really matter. Best answer to this is to look into the thermal conductivity of the type of material your rig frame is built from. K Value (therm cond) Aluminum = 205 Wood = 0.12-0.4 So obviously the thermal conductivity of the aluminum is much much better. The wood will retain more heat and swell much more than than the aluminum however it is not electrically conductive (mostly  ) Probably more important in the wood vs aluminum debate is thermal expansion. Linear growth coefficient for aluminum is about 23 and for wood it can vary from 54 to 27. So wood rigs will "swell" more than the aluminum frames. Aluminum rig Pros: Frame strength Corrision resistance Better thermal properties Cons: Electrically conductive More expensive Harder to make Wood Frame Pros: Cheap to make More simple to customize Won't conduct electricity Cons: Will expand and contract more Can rot, bugs, absorb moisture Could catch fire I'm a cheap skate so I go wood build and have always used this guide because I can make them in 20 min. http://highoncoins.com/litecoin-rig/how-to-make-diy-wooden-frame-for-litecoindogecoin-rig/ |

Wood rigs cheap and easy to make and are great if you never have a burn out. So good psu's and don't tax them at 90% good risers good wires. and great fans to cool the gear down. lastly do not run the gpus pedal to the metal. look here two gpu rigs only 4 cards as I am finalizing my solar array with buysolar for the next 5 months I added this one today. the silver is a fire barrier as it works in car engines . it is a wind tunnel it also sound proofs I added the 2 gpu one  here it is hashing but not maxed clocks  put it on the car before I drove it to the array  and in the array running. the array will add a few more gpu rigs and 1 s-7 three avalon's 721's and ⅓ of a s-9    |

@Phil, One of my Diamond RX480 ref cards died. Sent it back, they got it yesterday, checked it out, and sent new one out today. Pretty good turnaround.

Hello guys, I would like to share how it's going with my setup since you been really great for me as indicator to what to do or not. By now I've got 3 nvidia GTX 1080 TI and a nvidia GTX 970. And here's a screenshot how my ZCash miner it's going. After much testing I've got this results and since here power bills are kinda expensive I don't go full power, but instead I went looking for a good Sols/W rate. https://i.gyazo.com/8dea148527b140108273c33dced666a3.pngDoes anyone know why always the last GPU does have better Sol/W rate? I've done a lot of testing and it's always happening to me. I don't know the reason but always the last card on the rig does consume like 10% less power doing the same hashrate. FWIW I have used ribbon risers before.
As long as they have their own power cable to power them, id say they are useable.
They aren't for systems that will see lots of movement or be taken apart a lot.... They are very fragile compared to the typical powered risers.
