Thank you Evilmonkey
I need to get off nice hash even tho its not terrible compared to mining other coins from what I hear.

I have 3 1080ti cards on one board with some gentle typhoons running to move heat, there sitting at about 60 degrees a piece with fan speed at 70%

Only getting $15 a day from all 3.. I am sure there is more to be made else where..
Maybe Ill work on switching after my next payout this weekend.

Hi Phil,

Have you tried 3 FE 1080tis all next to each other?
Wondering how hot they will

I know you typically sandwich a 1070 mini
http://imgur.com/a/lwiDW

Please note this is super tempory and I was semi curious.

I thought he puts the 1070 on the end but I can be blind.  So I have an Aorus which takes up 2.5 slots.  It is by far the best 1080ti I have out of 4 models.  I live in new zealand so everything is more expensive and dificult to do.

I order some 1080ti but I really didnt have the gear to install them, I am waiting on some risers.  So I had to pretty much defile my gaming PC which has 3 PCI-e full siz slots.

SO I have the three cards install as follows in a case.  Slot 1 (pci-e x 16)  all fan style so they blow up from the card.  SLot 2 reasonable gap same card evga 1080ti SC black.  Then immediately next to it I have the Aorus.  It is almost touching it is so close.  I also had to take the backplate off to get it in the case.  If your card has a HDMI port you may not be able to fit it with the backplate off even.  I had to bend my case to fit it.

So amazingly the middle card the teh coldest by 2x.  because I think the card in slot one is sucking on it's heat sync and cooling it down and heating teh card in slot one up.

So the card in slot 2 can run at any TDP 100% and too the moon on low fan speed.  The card in slot 1 runs at 100% fan speed and at 50%-60% tpd depending on what I am minging.

It is super not ideal.  The aorus has access to cool air a the bottom so is mostly fine.  I installed a few extra fans but they didnt do alot.  YOU NEED that gap.

But as a temp measure it is fine.   It is much better than not having one of the cards going.

So the middle one gets upto max 45C  at 100% TPD.  The one in slot 1 gets upto 63 at 50-60 tpd and the auros is near 58 at 70 TPD.  It is winter here though so yer in summer things would not be great but my house is very well insulated.

I have a rig with 3 1080 ti's and it works I will photo later

I am still having heat issue in my dual GPU rigs, even though both GPUs are spaced apart.

So I added 3000RPM Scythe fans and its working very well....

To further improve the cooling in all my other NVIDIA rigs, I have decided to redesign and consolidated to save space, because the NVIDIA mini farm is sharing with the 1070 and RX470 ETH farm.

This will also give me an opportunity to setup dual server PSU and do load balancing. This I hope will reduce heat even further because PSUs will be running well below the threshold. The dual server PSU method worked very well in my RX470 ETH rigs.

I have 2 types of 1080ti Reference (FE aka blower types), the plan is to achieve 2xAsus and 2xZotac = 4xGPU = 1 single rig.

I will be using the Gigabyte Z270P-D3 and 3 x risers (1 GPU will be on the mobo) for this project using nvOC Linux.

My other 1080ti 5 x Zotac AMP, 3 x AMP Extreme and 8 x Aorus will be consolidated into 3/4/5 GPU per rigs with the same method above.

Very cool citroick - would love to see the end result.

Right now I'm running pretty similarly to you - I'm consolidating mobos to the D3's i can't believe they're going for $350 now on newegg! they work just as good as the Primes, TUF2's and MarkII's but were about $60 cheaper. Now I guess it just looks like get what you can get lol

I'm running 5 1080ti's per worker though - 2 on the mobo and 3 on risers.

Also doing dual PSU's because getting 1600w EVGA's became difficult and didn't want to wait - using Dual EVGA 850's and it works well. And I know 1600w (1700w dual) is overkill but I don't like to come close to load. All cards are <75% tdp.

<65% and I'm seeing >6.1 MH/W - you guys with the 1000Mh/s but only getting 3.5 MH/W can keep that noise. I have limited number of Amps I can draw at each location so maxing out the most hashes in each location will definitely help

Anyone mind providing me with the bat config to mine DGB on the Skein algo.
It's been awhile since I've configurated a bat file and tweaked it.

What miner do you guys recommend running with?
Going to give blockfactory a try, unless someone has a better recommendation.

My signature.  Check the link Wink. Batch link.

Jaredkaragen.  I relise you might be a very busy person.  But you link is ultra confusing to most people.  It wasn't until I knew what I was doing that I figure it out. Everytime you refered to your link I clicked it and got confused.  Honestly it would be faster to just post a basic bat file to get the average person going.  Your batch file is for advanced users,  and honestly clickign on it when I was new really really really put me off the whole deal.  Now I appreciate it ALOT. But if you are asking for basic info your link is not great unless it has changed.

here is my super basic bat files

:START
ccminerAlexis78.exe -a skein -o stratum+tcp://skein.mine.zpool.ca:4933 -u 1NAr74hNRJjyNrdqWyAJigxToAo3y5dPJV.3x1080ti -p c=BTC,skien,stats
goto start

I understand;  there are several versions of the batch; and as well, there is a LOT of other information that's quite relevant to mining on zpool or a similar pool in those links.

also;  on this thread, as well as the zpool thread; there's the same answer(s) repeated over and over again for your very questions; which all of them were answered in different parts of my link... which I do understand is a little confusing.

But in my link; the manual control (select your algo) would have been the first thought for what you would pick;  wherein you would only need to have a word in a file available on the net (which i have provided as skien ATM as the post states) and simply fill in your BTC address at the top of the batch to get going....

Yeah;  ill admit i have been stupid busy these last two weeks.  I haven't even been home for quite some time because I am house sitting a bunch of animals 100 miles away... and I wont be home again until monday or maybe sunday.

If you need assistance, I am a PM away.

Link to my batch and script resources here.

did you manage to see the powerdraw from wall?

these 1060s are just amazing -- i bet 60-70watts per card

if a modest 6x1070 can do 650w ..... with the 1060 mining editions coming out soon... mining community will double without saying.... AMD will not know what hit them.... suddenly team green become king of crypto cards... interesting times

Like Phil... I think we better hold on to any big GPU purchases.... they will be a BIG FLOOD of 1060's soon below 200 bucks (according to NVIDIA).... there is also a 1080 mining edition in the works.

Also.... I think there is something brewing in the Claymore ETH camp..... for the first time ethminer, sgminer etc. became top news again because of the improvements in their codes for NVIDIA cards.... so I think the ZEC path should be a good one, plus 1 or 2 more alts....

Agreed.... now is the slumptime to hold and be patient.    I am going to keep watching CL for cheap 1070's and reasonable 1060's...   I was seeing EVGA 1060's for $200 all day long on the shelf before people started gouging the price and realizing how well the altmarket was doing.  If I can see them for ~160-180;  Ill be buying them most likely.  Same if I see 1080's for < 400 or 1070's for < 300.

Exactly.   I think even ATI has stated they arent doing cards for the reasons of crypto or deep learning.   Maybe they will change their strategy; especially when ETH goes POS.

I wonder how long people have been witting on these "improvements" that are just now hitting the public.    My guess is quite some time.  My irk with miners that have built in fees;  the fee typically ends up eating up most of the value of upgrading to the new efficient miner....    I have yet to mine with a feed' miner;  (that I know of)

Definitely agree with that. I was going to pull the trigger on a few 1070's I saw on CL for $350 but decided not to.

Dang and I just bought another 1080ti last night to complete my mobo (total of 3).
That's really as far as I wanted to go with this.

I can still return it all as it's within 30 days, haha.

Has anybody found any increases in changing from the default ethminer config with the new version? So far I am seeing it 1-2 Mhashes faster than Claymore on a 1060, but it doesn't make up for the loss of dual mining.

Got my first pair of GTX 1080 ti on the way (due Friday) - but due to infrastructure setup at the new place, it's going to be a dual-card machine.

The 3-card 1080 setup works OK from a cooling standpoint, with a Zotac mini in the outer slot - but the middle card IS the warmest, even with a card that's long enough to have one fan almost totally unobstructed.
I just wish 1080 non-ti hadn't started climbing a bit this past week.

I was going to grab some R9 390 cards from a local seller on Craigslist - but they never responded to my email, and didn't have a voice number I could try calling them at.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!
