For a defender of Mat Hummels quality, I wasn't expecting him to struggle in getting a new club after leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season. In as much as I want Arteta to buy a prolific striker in front of goal to help them challenge for the title this season, I feel that Arteta is not yet sure if he needs one. I mean this Arsenal team scored 91 goals last season, without a world class striker. It doesn’t seem like a striker is needed for him to perfect his game play.

He trusts Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus to lead the front line. He’s strengthen the defense and midfield. He prioritizes these positions than the attack. A winger is even needed, to give much resting time to Bukayo Saka who has very very active playing in all competitions lately. It’s not a bad move at all but if Lukaku and Abraham couldn’t succeed i don’t think it will be the fault of the players at all, could be the management fault or something. It will all be clear if Dovbyk doesn’t perform well for them, i don’t doubt his abilities at all but the Italian league is far more stronger than the La Liga so adapting can be a bit challenging.
