For longterm holds and security definitely use an offline wallet and do not forget your password.

For trading online wallets are very convenient. However, do not keep more than necessary in your online wallet, as many online wallets went offline after cyber attackes or similar happenings.

I think offline wallet is better than Online wallet Cheesy. With offline wallet you can totally control your bitcoin but it don't with online wallet, you will loss all of your bitcoin if online wallet website hacked or down forever for any reasons. Beside, with offline wallet such as Electrum, you can set up the amount of BTC you will pay for trasaction fee but don't set it too low Smiley)

there is No Online wallets that are safe to use. They can scam anytime.
you can use multiple site to hold on.

Otherwise,
If you have a lot of BTC then it is better to use an offline wallet like hardware wallet.

i suggest you try trezor, it is one of the best wallet.
How can you just casually say that all those online wallets are frauds and always tends to scam people. How narrow-minded you are, you see many people are using online wallets and have no problems at all. It probably depends on what wallet you're using, if you're confident with that wallet because you've confirmed all the security measures that are required then its fine. Besides its not the online wallets have the faults but those who're using it, because they've did not research well enough to get the security they needed.

Some online wallet providers are scammed many people who have their in their site. That is why people are saying online wallets are worst to have your bitcoins. We need to be careful logging into the site. If you any desktop wallet you will understand how it will secured to you and your bitcoin will be safe for long time.

pretty much 75% of the hosted wallets that have existed, have been hacked/went scam.

never store coins on a hosted wallet for a second longer than you absolutely need to, you are opening yourself up to an additional attack vector. offline wallets, or even wallets located on your operating system of choice, dont suffer this additional risk. its ok to use exchanges to trade, there arent a lot of dexs at the moment with decent volume. but understand, if you dont control the key solely, you dont control the coins Wink

i will reccomend coinbase, however; they are insured to an extent.

I agree with you entirely! Having total control is essential when handling bitcoin. If an online wallet provider goes offline you've lost your coins and that's totally out of your control. I also like being able to put custom fees so I will give electrum a try. Thanks for the recommendation.

Online wallets are more secure because offline one are always threatned of being stolen, lost or even disk malfunctions. But i suggest using both at the same time 50% of your posession in each so you never have to worry.

Most of the offline wallets like hardware wallets are not easy to break or stolen because it is up to you on how you are going to use it to preserve your cryptocurrencies because if you know how to use and take care of it then the threat of malfunctioning of the device or being stolen is not a big deal because if in the first place you are taking care of it then there is no problem to worry about.

Which of the Bitcoin wallets between the Online and Offline works best?

Offline wallets are the best and most secure wallets.
With offline wallet you can save your private keys safe away from prying eyes.
With offline wallet all your bitcoins or altcoins are 100% safe from hacks or government seizure.
As you know nothing is 100% safe online because of government and hackers as well.

I prefer offline wallet because of the obvious fact that you can immediately check your balance without internet connection. I guess it also function well with the onlinr wallet. Your cash ins can also be sync when your online immediately. Offline wallet is less hassle.

I am currently using an online mobile wallet. It is much easier to use. And I can check prices even when I am not at home. I have only few btc and I think it will not be considered as a loss in case anything happens. I also use my cellphone entering this forum that is why it hassle free. I am updated anywhere.

I do not think there is a need for all of us to repeat the same thing in our different ways. As the term explains the whole thing myself that something that is offline is safe from all kinds of attacks from the internet is it hacking or virus or any such obvious example of a wallet is best to Store large amounts of bitcoins but if you have negligible amounts of it and also what you are required to spend from time to time, you can store them in your wallet online.

This is just a wrong thought process, online wallets can be hacked and even if the service is shut down you never know what is going to happen with your coins and that is not the case with saving your coins with your, make sure you have your private keys and back up with you and then you are safe to go.

That's the good thing about using mobile wallets, they are very convenient and easy to use. I have also downloaded mobile wallet and it's very good for me to go outside because I can still monitor the prices even I'm busy going to vacation even I'm not with my laptop. But I have most of my coins stored on offline wallets.

Which of the Bitcoin wallets between the Online and Offline works best?
Actually both of them are same because both of them have the fascility of the private key surely .
In case of the online the private key is made by the online Wallet directly and in case of offline we needed to create ourself a private key randomly .
Since we have full trust with the official , so we don't need to take any tension about the online official Wallet .
But if still anyone don't have the trust then he can create own paper wallet in offline and can be use easily like online .
So i think in these both case are better to use According circumstances  .
Here in my opinion the bettet thing for us to use official Wallet only because to have official wallet we can use our wallet to store the money safely and there exists no chance to steal by anyone or anything that reasons to loss our money that can be given by the third party wallet .
So always use official wether to use online or offline .

If you have high value of coins, I would recommend keeping most in hardware wallet and a fraction in online wallets for trading (if you intend to). I won't consider both similar because with online wallets there's always a risk of hack, temporary unavailability or even permanent shutdown (especially exchanges) etc. Hardware wallet always remains with you.

While we are at it, for online wallets, if they are accessed with username/password, make sure you have a 2nd factor authentication enabled. The blockchain technology is secure but the endpoints are not. i.e. like with any other online service your username/password can get leaked.

Both wallets have drawbacks and advantages. But for us, or most of us would prefer offline wallet because of the possibility that online wallets might shutdown or might run with just a blink of an eye. And on offline wallets, you can have a backup of your private keys that most of the online wallets companies wouldn't gave us this rights. The only concern on offline wallets are the malwares and virus in Windows Operating System, it's not that I'm discouraging you to use Windows but Linux so far is more secured in terms of malware. So for the record to answer your question, offline wallets are best. Just always make sure to take care of it and your keys.

There is no doubt about which wallet is better overall. It is the offline wallets.

However, online wallets are better for quickly transacting Bitcoin because it can be accessed instantly without uploading your private keys.
