For long term storage, please use offline paper wallet or hardware wallets. Paper wallet must be carefully generated though.

For daily/ frequent use, you can consider one of the mobile wallet- after all you do not bring your computer with you everywhere. Try breadwallet.

If you are holding a lot of bitcoins, go with Hardware wallet If you are planning to use them from time to time otherwise go with Paper wallets for long term storage. Desktop wallet such as Electrum can be a good choice If you can't really afford a hardware wallet.

It is only right to use an offline wallet to store big amounts of  bitcoins but for small transactions, trading and gambling online wallet should work fine.

Personally, I always feel that offline offline is the best, it is really controlled by us, we can do whatever we like with it. For an online purse, our money will be transferred to their address, and they will manage them, things will become more inconvenient.

With transaction fees rising, people are more getting into online wallets than offline wallets. Offline wallets is only for stopping and holding large amount of Bitcoins. If you gamble or trade frequently then online wallet is a better choice for you.

Can we really use an offline wallet? If that idea is safer than online wallet, I think I will use that in the future because if we talk online wallet as of now specially connected to the internet network; vulnerability of being attacked by hacker is really possible to happen. I had no ideas of any offline wallets since my start of bitcoin transaction, online wallet is the wallet I used for a long period of time.

Based on my experience, i will prefer offline wallets because they are safe and it is not that risky because you are storing your bitcoins on wallets offline and you only need to secure them from the thieves out there in your place but rather than that like hackers, you don't need to worry because it works offline and it is very easy to use.

I don´t recommend online wallets because you don´t have control of your coins. At any time someone can guess your credentials and hack your account, the service can suffer a robbery or even close and leave with your funds. Some time ago it was posted a leak with accounts at blockchain.info, addresses and passwords, it´s easy to suffer losses with online wallets. The only case in which I would use them would be for very small amounts that you can afford to lose, to send between the exchanges if you do trading and things like that.

I recommend you to use online wallet for mobile and offline wallet for personal computer(PC).the reason I recommend it if you use offline wallet on mobile your mobile is anytime Theft but for personal computer(PC) this chance is too low but if you use lots of security on mobile offline wallet then that's OK.

Depending on the usage people need to selectthe respective wallet. In my view offline wallets were the best for users who consider it as a long term investment. For regular usage starting from transaction to gambling and other needs online wallets were the best.

If you are trying to store a large amount than I would recommend an offline cold storage, but they get really hard to use on a regular basis; so I would also recommend having an online wallet with a smaller balance to use regularly.

Offline wallets:
You know where your data is. You are responsible for your own data.

Online wallets:
Your data can be anywhere, you do not know who operates the site and with what intentions. If you use an online wallet, make sure they give out all your private keys, if they refuse to do so, that is a red flag.

Everybody decide for himself what kind of wallet to choose. I have both kinds, one to feel safe and other for fast transactions, which are actually not so fast already.
