Maybe, but I doubt that was his intention from the start.

If he wanted to do a quick dump he could've just made another scrypt clone with no innovations, implementing a new algo takes actual effort.

Doesn't mean the coin won't die though, it had a poor launch. Not only is altcoin fatigue setting in, FUD was rampant at release and damaged the market perception. I don't think the name 'yet another altcoin' is helping it either...

Looks like I am mining. So if I am lucky I will have 100 coins coming to my private address right?

YK4MC8PDFyzrXhDs5YZGBJtE5V3mVTcy81

Hmm... But even 100 YAC only worths $10 right?

I got 88088 in gethaspersec. Is it good?

Is there a YAC calculator now? What's the difficulty? How much coin per day would I get with 88k hash? Any YAC pool URL?

100% rejected from all pools I tried, gone back to solo mining to see what happens. Seems fine in both the client and cpuminer here, reporting hashes like normal. Hashrate definitely does seem lower since the change.

Bit naive to think that someone who launched a coin with this much hype around it was a forum newb. You don't think this guy has another account? Grin My guess is the dev is one of the people who has been posting in support of YAC since the launch.

Mining solo with cpuminer (instead of the wallet's miner) gives me ~60% of the original hashes. But the important thing is to confirm we are still generating valid blocks.

Forgive my newbness if I'm wrong but, a test payment I sent from yac.dontmine.me 10 minutes ago now has 13 confirmations. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this means that someone is finding blocks, even if its not us.

Yup. getinfo says blocks are being found at the usual rate.

Checking 'getinfo' in the client every few minutes, blocks are still being found. so people are still mining it

Mining in mineyac2.dontmine.me but so far found no shares so I can't tell if pool accepts them or not. Need more hashpower, definitely.

Noone is finding anything on that pool.

Totally. But not doing any more post as the OP kinda shows how little faith he/she/it actually has in the project.
