Bitcoin is a leader and not a single crypto currency has even come close to him. But of course we can not guarantee that this will not happen in the future.

I think bitcoin will keep leading the market atleast until crypto is accessible enough for the masses to start using it. Not necessarily Bitcoin as it is today, since Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin 2x might catch up eventually, but definitely one of form on bitcoin will be #1 for the next couple years.

That might be true. But I do not believe Ethereum will be able to hold their gains for long. Sooner or later the price has to go down simply because that is what markets do.
So always remind yourself not to get lost in the mania and try to stay objective. In a market like this, it is easy to think that the good days will never end.
I'm not even holding ethereum, was for a bit but sold it. I bought lbry and don't regret it. The 5x profit margin of the top 5 coins don't really compare to the 20x I've made since buying lbry. I hope some of the other shitcoins I'm holding go back up, they spiked during the last bull run and I didn't sell, now they seem to be sliding down. I agree. Although there is a chance especially after the fork that altcoins would surge in terms of price. The current market trend at the moment is not indicating any major change that would let another coin be of similar standing, more so overtake bitcoin. Maybe that can be reached if more people would really rally in using altcoins so much more than bitcoins.

BTCs value isnt bound to its usability, but much rather to it being the first and most well-known crypto-currency there is..
Id guess that out of 100 people who have heard of bitcoin, maybe 5 heard of ethereum and 1-2 heard of other altcoins.
That said, Bitcoin simply is the value this market depends on especially due to the reason that a lot of (crypto-wise uneducated) people who enter the crypto-market will purely rely on btc as they dont know anything about other coins.
Thats at least what I experienced so far.

Bitcoin, the original cryptocurrency is currently at number 1 position, it’s the first decentralized ledger currency and the most valuable cryptocurrency of today’s times.
People talk about Bitcoin and Ethereum all the time, but both are very different from each other, both have different models to work.
Currently, there is no threat to its no 1 position. But. might be after sometime, some other will take its place as we are in currency market and which is highly volatile due to various reasons.

I do not feel so.Nonetheless, there are far more and much more new technologies adoptions and even much more Venture Capitals as properly as Hedge Cash backing Bitcoin, which is pushing the Bitcoin Cost increased and higher. There is just minimal variety of Bitcoins available. When Bitcoin Mining will occur to its end, that is the time Bitcoin Price tag will start flying high!
I believe only bitcoin will be number one for any long time. Bitcoin is largest and valuable currency in the world. Maximum coin depending on bitcoin. So in future bitcoin stay number one

if the split would truly occur, and we can not surely know the real effects of the split on bitcoin if it will be surely for the better or for the worst, but I think we should be prepared for the impending split and if the date of the split would occur and they say that it is on Aug. 1 then selling your coins is the best way or get a wallet that can surely convert your bitcoin fast enough before the bitcoin split because we might know what really might happen.
I'd actually hold, after the split you'd own bitcoin and bitcoin classic. If both hit a bull run you could be making money like altcoin holders make money. That's true. Many are actually worried about the future of bitcoin after the fork. Many long time investors and so-called experts in the field have conflicting opinions on what's going to happen. I think it can happen; however, there should be major changes in the market trends before it does. At the price point of even the best altcoins, it is still quite apart with the value of bitcoin.

Bitcoin will stay as leader like USDollar has this priviledge in fiat for decades, even now. I see people start saving long-term in Bitcoins, even for retirement. It's good sign. Micro-payments should go to Litecoin to handle and leave some relief to bitcoin.

The possibility of ethereum overtaking bitcoin is very narrow. In short ethereum cannot overtake bitcoin. The by product of ethereum is still remains bitcoin.

I thought for sure it would take until the end of 2018 but it looks like this summer ethereum might pass it up. With the turmoil around BTC potential splitting, it might be very soon. IMO this is healthy, we will always value bitcoin for being the one that started it all, but it's time for a more dynamic and adaptable currency to take the lead.
It is incredible how fast things can change, not too long ago people actually thought that bitcoin will be surpassed and now look at how things have turned, ETH still has the same market cap but bitcoin has moved up in price at an impressive speed and it is not going to stop for quite some time.

I really very confident that bitcoin in the next few years would increasingly popular because in an increase the Exchange rate a very large although there are currently types of coins etherium deemed to have the quality of the same as BTC but until at any time will never shift position at all. Bitcoins is the cryptocurrency which was the main which is the main and I'm 100% certain that the bitcoins will be the main later on the grounds that no other could resemble the bitcoins the estimations of the bitcoins is on the record level and this record won't be broken ever in light of the fact that it is practically difficult to achieve the estimations of the bitcoins and still its costs are going increasingly elevated quickly so you should purchase increasingly Bitcoins to have increasingly benefit.

Well there is a probability for that to happen but i don't think that it will happen right away. You see bitcoin took a lot of years to be in where it is right now. So i think ethereum will take about a couple of year to take over bitcoin.
Ethereum and Bitcoin are not at all designed to fight in the same category. Bitcoin is a crypto-currency and Ethereum is a world-scale decentralised virtual machine, so no one is superior to the other, hence one can not take the rank of the other one.

It’s out of question and I don’t agree because bitcoin is here for long time not for a short time we can guess bitcoin all efforts that what bitcoin achieved in this time duration bitcoin is trying to spared his business around the world and I think bitcoin is almost near to his target just need little more time than bitcoin will be remain for long time.

anything is possible in crypto currency and technology. The only way I could think that bitcoin will be replace is when blockchain will have vulnerabilities and when it's hacked. Even government can't regulate this and can't stop people from buying. If bitcoin will crash everything will lose it's value. For now I don't seem to see any crypto that would overtake the spot of bitcoin. I can be wrong but nothing beats bitcoin atm.

I do not think so, although bitcoin is not stable but bitcoin will remain number one. Because bitcoin has many enthusiasts as well as users, and the expensive bitcoin price makes people more likely to use bitcoin.

The above was posted last June 12, so now, you've found out that your thought and/or speculation is wrong. Bitcoin price now is nearing the planet of Mars at $7430 compared to that of Ethereum's $286.45... it's too far! So, how can Ethereum overtake Bitcoin with that wide gap? It was even predicted to reach the mark of $100,000 next year. If that happens then I would say, nobody, can stop Bitcoin. http://coincap.io/

That is true because a lot of people prefer to invest in something that has withstood the test of time rather than the new ones around and since bitcoin has withstood all the possible criticisms and negativism i bet people will feel safer keeping their investments in bitcoin rather than moving it around.
