will you guys accept paypal payment? for those of us who are BTC poor Sad

We want to promote Bitcoin. And since this is a Bitcoin mining machine, it makes perfect sense to sell it for BTC only. Initially it will be for BTC only, however, we might start accepting PayPal/CC later on.

This statement is ass-backwards, if you want more people to get into mining with a decent hash-rate and spout the virtues of such to everyone they come across you would let them pay with anything they want to throw at you.

That would be like Amazon forcing me to buy from them with Amazon coins.

Do you not like USD or something?

From what I understand the beef stems from the fact, if genuine, they have to play their rather unique suppliers in Bitcoins so would rather stay in that currency and it may help with tax related issues based on the tomato similie.

Fact is guys, peeps are happy paying a little extra and covering the transaction fees for the case of security.

See, some words haven't been as strong as their promises suggested they would so far...

This makes sense, I hadn't considered this line of reasoning, thanks.

If CC/Paypal was added, you would have a large advantage over competition and questions of legitimacy would probably fall off substantially.

But then we'll have to fix price in USD, something we don't want to do.

Have you considered bitpay? This isn't an endorsement, I know next to nothing about them. But they are supposed to allay some of the inherent suspicions and distrust while working WITHIN the realm of bitcoin.

I'm really interested in this. But I have too little BTC (actually only 1 xD).

So I'm in the side of you accepting other forms of payment, like dollars, in Paypal, CC or whatever.

I'm all for them accepting multiple forms of payment, but they already have prices available in BTC on their website. Considering that terrahash isn't even taking pre-orders yet, folks should have plenty of time to convert fiat to BTC if they so choose.

For crying out loud, it's got nothing to do with the inconvenience, it's the security!

Terrahash, will you be providing a heatsink design assembly for your modular boards, or is cooling the chips up to the buyer?

from the discussion in the klondike thread, I believe they are going to include the heatsink. I have no affiliation so I ain't sure.

Assuming the seller can demonstrate a functioning product and establish a certain degree of credibility, they will have no problems filling orders with only bitcoin payments. If they prefer bitcoin payments, then they prefer bitcoin payments and you're in no way obligated to do business with them. If you would still like to buy their products, there are plenty of ways to convert fiat to BTC. BitPay and/or some sort of an escrow might not be a bad idea, or perhaps someone from the forum with some credibility who lives near their place of business could stop in and get the scoop?

On a more philosophical note, I think what Terrahash and steamboat and others are doing is very important and should be commended. If it wasn't for these projects, small-time miners like many of us would be getting squeezed out of the business even more than we already are.

Hey Terrahash -- will you be getting advance chips and boards to assemble one or more working prototypes prior to taking orders?

Nightingale, whilst I agree with you pointing out the bleeding obvious, in light of recent scams, they would do well to appease their doting potential customer base that want to support them, just by recognised safe means.

I can only assume that *if genuine, they are adverse to fiat currency for the beneficial tax purposes dealing in a non-recognised currency may provide...

@Terrahash:
- Could you please post a snippet of your Bitsyncom order stating:
   - The two order numbers, the order status & order date
- Could you please sign a short message with the Bitcoin address you used to
pay the two Avalon ASIC batches and state the unique payment address you used.
And post the info in this thread (bitcoin address, message, signature)

I think the answer to these questions could provide more trust to your company and for all
the forum members still thinking about buying from you.

Thanks for all your efforts and commitment.

Hello, Terrahash
Is there a reason why you can't do this ?
Thanks!

The DX Mini weighs in at BTC11.99.  The website doesn't clearly specify how many modules will come with it.  The website says:

Quote
Comes complete with a case, installed boards, power supply and cooling fans.

One fully assembled module is BTC1.99.  How many boards does the DX Mini come with?  I'm running the scenarios in my head:

Num boardsCost/boardCost for case, PSU and Fans
0BTC1.99BTC11.99
1BTC1.99BTC10
2BTC1.99BTC8.01
3BTC1.99BTC6.02
4BTC1.99BTC4.03
5BTC1.99BTC2.04
6BTC1.99BTC.05
7BTC1.99BTC-1.94
8BTC1.99BTC-3.93
9BTC1.99BTC-5.92
10BTC1.99BTC-7.91

So it looks like it wouldn't make sense for less than 5 boards.  At five, that's a big cost for a case.
