I'm having problems with the script. The manual disable/enable works fine.

output of script:
C:\Users\monero\Desktop>devcon.exe disable "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F"
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&2AF6ADFE&0&000000E6: Disable failed
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&2C451A81&0&000000E0: Disable failed
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&21DB5B6B&0&00000008: Disable failed
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&9C9E801&0&000000EB: Disable failed
No matching devices found.

C:\Users\monero\Desktop>timeout /t 5

Obviously it found 4 Cards but was not able to disable it?
I'm on build 1703 and I downloaded devcon.exe the following way:

Make sure your running the batch file/devcon as an administrator. If that doesn't work, make sure you have the 64 bit version of devcon if you're running 64 bit windows, and the 32 bit version of devcon if you're running 32 bit windows.

Side note for people who might search this in the future:

The Asus Z270-A WILL NOT RUN 7 Vega. At least not without additional hardware. Its impossible to install the drivers, they'll crash every time no matter how you do it. 6 cards is doable, as long as they're placed in every slot EXCEPT PCIeX16_1. If a card is placed in the first x16 slot, then the drivers will crash while installing if you try to use more than 5 cards. Just a heads up for anyone who might be having this problem.

Edit: Running 7+ Vega on the Asus Z270-A is doable with a PCIe expander. Just make sure no cards are placed in the first x16 slot.

I might add MSI Z370 PC PRO. It only starts out with 5 slots and dependig from your config you might be left with only 3 working Huh  Some cards randomly are not shown etc... No bios update since launch,

Horrible igpu implemenration which randomly works and then just stops. Definitive return. Had to move my çards back on my expensive board but man it's a joy working on it compared to MSI boards...

FFin hate that thing.... Grin

Should I get a Vega 64 instead of a 56? They are both at the same price.

@Tanos get the 64

Guys I have  4x vega 56, I followed the guide on reddit guide however I'm wondering if voltage control not working properly?
wattman showing 905 core // 900mem - i just flashed the video bios and used the 1100MHz HBM @ 905mV reg file modifying it for each gpu in registry.

mine are avging 165w with -30% power - combined hash rate 7099h/s Cast-XMR

getting 180w power at 0% power - 7600h/s Cast-XMR

Sounds right.  Thats about what you should get with that reg file. You can get down to 120w by changing the memory voltage (which actually is not the memory voltage at all down to 800mv). After than change p6 and p7 values down to 800mv and voila Wink

changing the voltage needs to happen in reg powerplay?
p6-p7 in overdrive?

800mV?Huh How you can go so low. That means the core should be very low frequency.

Anyone know what mobo can run 8 VEGAs? I have multiple Asus Z270-As and cant seem to get them to pick up 8 cards and it seems my fear is true. What mobo has success running 8 VEGA cards?

That is the floor. The card will adjust automatically. Normally it won't go under 850mv and then not all cards are stable at that voltage. For example, for me, minimum stable is 875mV.

There is no gains below that (perhaps 1-2W per card) and it's not stable.

Yes, exactly right Wink I have noticed that on some systems the memory voltage will still show 900mv at startup but in that case you can lower that too in Overdrive and it will stick.

I dont know of any public Reg files with that mod but you can just use any other one and change memory volt value your self.

http://i66.tinypic.com/20pzc4k.jpg

You want 80, 38, 01 for 800mv.

The card will rarely still use only 800mv but it will go lower than before. if 1400mhz is not stable than 1350 will be on 99% cards.

Edit - there is a noticable gain on powerdraw for me. My 4 card rig went fro  690-730w from the wall to 585-620w.6 card rig is between 770-820w.

Its not a huge win financially but i like the cards cool and quiet Wink

Have anyone been able to successfully mine Monero on vegas with the compute drivers merged into standard drivers (past 17.10.2). I have been trying to figure it out, but was not successful at all. It looks like the compute driver is there, but HBCC toggle has no effect on the performance - cannot get past 1200 with no OC (tried versions 17.10.3 and 17.11.1).

Best to only activate p1 and p7 for cpu and mem p1 and p3?
But if i deactivate(strg+click on the state) power states in OverdriveNTool, after press apply there are back. Same @you?
GPUz doesn't see the vdcc adjustage.

@Rampage89 test to deactivate and activate the gpu in Windows devices manager, then start mining. better?

You have to be more clear, I am not following you at the moment. Not touching P1's at all.

If your values are not sticking in OverDriveTool then the PowerPlayTabe has not applied properly. Try applying it again or even start over witth DDU - Drivers - Regedit - restart - overdrivetool.

Thought would better for stability to deactivate useless PowerStates?!
Thought Overdrive made the reg? Not? What to edit in regedit?

So they say but I have never had any stability issues with my cards  - they either crash right away / in a few minutes or not at all.

Are you using the very latest OverDrive mentioned by RednoW a few posts back ? If not then you have to do it manually with a registry file. There is a tutorial for that somewhere in this thread ( page 68 maybe ? )

Im going to check out the new version of OverDrive my self as well tonight. Might be easier.

What cards and what bioses are you using ?
