has anyone tried running 12 of v64s on a single motherboard? the only example i found is this guy who says he uses 17.11.1 drivers but it doesn't work for me. the system either goes into a reboot/bsod loop the moment it reaches desktop or doesn't reach desktop before rebooting.

also, my 5x vega 64 used to draw 1000w at the wall, but it draws 1300w + with 6 cards? then suddenly it drops to about 1215-1315w after 20mins of mining.

Who is Best Vega64 cards??
Sapphire, XFX ?? or other?
I have 2x HIS v64, 6x gigabyte v56, 4x sapphire v56, 4x XFX v56. They are all identical cards that was made by amd. One v64 has brown pcb. Some stats:
v64 obviously works without issues @ 1400 0.9v / 1100 0.9, i think 99.9% of v64 should works fine with this config
13/14 v56 flashed to v64 bios, one v56(gigabyte) crashes after some time with v64 bios even if set to 1200 0.1v core 800 0.95v hbm, but works fine with own bios @ 1350 0.1v 1000 0.95v hbm
4/13 flashed v56 works @ 1400 0.9v (1 gigabyte, 2 XFX, 1 sapphire)
7/13 flashed v56 works @ 1400 0,925v (4 gigabyte, 2 XFX, 1 sapphire)
1/13 flashed v56 works @ 1400 0,935v (1 sapphire)
1/13 flashed v56 works @ 1400 0,965v (1 sapphire), unable to set lower voltage but temperatures are same as 0,9v cards (sensor bug?)

for custom cards sapphire looks very good but has 3 8-pin

I;m having varied results like yours too.

i have 11 vega 64s,
1 XFX
1 MSI
2 Sapphire LE
7 sapphire

there's always 1 card that somehow draws a few more amps than the others and causes a higher hbm temps than other despite a higher fan speed

Ok so I just realised the GPUs aren't taking the OverdriveNtool settings apart from fan speed and memory clock. Core clock does whatever the fvck they want and so do the voltages. HWinfo64 shows 1.25V on the memory despite me having set it at 900mV... Tongue I think I'm going to give Wattman a go Sad

how did you manage to get hwinfo to work?

i'm using the 5.58 version on several PCs and most of them freezes my systems and causes 1 or more GPUs to "disconnect", where the leds go off, and rebooting doesn't make it reappear. I need to completely shutdown the system and restart it for the vega to reappear.

yet on some systems, it works perfectly fine. same version. same motherboard

In settings before launching turn off the I2C control thingymajig ticker box.  Should work fine.

My Setup

2 vega 64 Liquid Cooled
2 Nitro+ RX580 8gb

Performance:
5600h/s

Vegas 2030 each
RX580s 780 each
Watts drawing at the plug 830

im using wattman and there are no registry edits done

what could i realistically reduce this usage down to whilst maintaing hashrate

thanks

It's great running, accepting setting from Overdrive.. But the fan rpm, it doesn't follow right.
Seems there is some offset from a few +100 rpm? You have the same?

Temp is 45C, Target Temp 65. Fan is set to 2700-2800, but it runs on 3020+-rpm

No benefit from 16gb memory of vega FE yet

Vega FE 2122H/s average running stable
1640 core @ .900v 1102 mem @.900v HBM temp currently 76C - been running approx 5 days 36299 shares 34 errors

blockchain with overdriventool (I can get mem to 1107 but errors increase)

I would post a pic but not sure how to upload on here?

I have reduced power lower than 200W but still working out how to do it perfectly - I can only do this at weekends (read somwhere mem volts and core volts must match)

definitely your downvolt doesn't working. There is no chance vega can work at 1640 gpu core with only 900mV
And your power readings it is the second proof. You should have 160 watt with working 900mV downvolt

GPU-Z shows

1664 GPU
1102 Mem
1107 SoC
61 GPU temp
68 Hot spot
77 HBM
3379 Fan
100% load
- GPU only power draw
0 Mem useage
1.0625 vddc

But these are just the settings I used on Sunday, I was playing around on Saturday. I'm accessing my machine remotely now

I use profiles on overdriventool, this one is stable and fast but not the best power wise

Hello all,

Yesterday I have posted this question in other thread, but unfortunately I got no advice, so I am trying here today. I am getting very frustrated with my 2 Saphire VEGA64 cards and castXMR setup . The problem is that one of my cards just stops hashing after 1-6 hours (randomly) and miner freezes. I am getting no errors reports in CastXMR or wattman at all. The miner seems to be active and is reporting hashrate for one card. When I am trying to use command "q" to quit it does not react. I have to close it's window and them my wattman setting resets. I am using blockchain driver and applied 1050 registry mod. I also lowered power limit to -21% and GPU. Temperature is below 50 celsius. Please give me some ideas/hints what can cause this problem. I spent several days reinstalling my system and it seems that nothing works Sad

I actually did this math last night while talking about the inflated Vega prices.

If you're only talking two 570s, a single Vega 56 is going to give you more hashrate with less (or equal) cost, and less power draw. Three 570s has its benefits, but you're just making your power company happy.

My numbers may not be representative of anyone who has really dialed in their settings, but think of having to do that 3 times more than a single Vega. I am taking into account the average person's experience.

Don’t use wattman or amd driver tools.
First follow the guide vegamining.blogspot.com. If this doesn’t help then test your cards one by one. Could be that one card needs other settings or is faulty.

Hi, what is your mobo?
I had the same problem and it was caused by the asrock h110+. Such a piece of junk if you want to use it with vegas...
New mobo asus mining expert did the job and rig with 8x vegas mining nonstop for 8days for now...
Before that I had a crashes and freezing of miner 2-4x times per day...

I'm using an ASRock H110 with 5x Vega (soon to be 8, once I get my 240V circuit set up) with no issues. I have seen mixed reviews, so it's very possible that with such niche hardware, the failure rate is a bit higher.

I use both mining expert and 110 mobo with each 7x vega 56 on them. They both behave the same, a few freezups a week for each board. Stable enough for me using a auto soft reboot script, but not 100% stable.

i change my motherboard

had an 5 port, have an 6 port now to put my last vega (was running on a single computer)  but there is a problem my hasrate droped by almost 200 per card  Huh Roll Eyes
and the computer freeze or miner hang after some time

before i use msi afterburner     -120mv    powerlimit -20%     but the under volt is not available on the 6pcie slot

so i use  overdrive  950mv  power limit -12%  same setting as the tutorial  but notice gpu is going slower but should not be a problem as other people use that setting

i cannot test with to much voltage or to high powerlimit  as 1 of the psu would shutdown with higher power picks

and it worked before so why suddenly i need to give more power  so cannot be that problem
but this one it s an older version of win10 , i think was running last version on the 5pice slot

I will definitely use this guide. I have been testing cards one by one separately and there were no issues. It seems that one Vega is randomly "resetting" when I have both Vegas active. I am so desperate, that I am even trying
nicehash miner to make it work Smiley
