According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I don't flash my 56 vega to 64, and I still can get 1950 h/s using core 1375 mem 950.

I'm wondering what are you mining with the vegas ?

I've been mining ETN but now Nicehash pays a lot more and I can't find the coin everybody is mining. I prefer to mine the coin directly instead of going trough nicehash.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

IT IS ETN, whattomine just takes away 35% by default due to pool bad luck. Easy way to calc correct value is to add 10% to what whattomine gives for nh cryptonigh.
Why is WTM actually doing this? Is there any logic behind this? Why putting a 35% "tax" on ETN profitability predictions but not on other coins? Surely pool luck affects every coin out there?

Use miner CAST-XMR to get 1950h/s on a Vega56 using only reg updates and NTool

WRT: JJ's batch file that runs powershell to disable/enable/ntool/mine;

How can I edit this batch file to do exactly this;
* First check for the number of GPU's detected by windows, and;
* If less than 4, reboot the PC
* Else proceed as normal

Thanks for the heads up. I am back to ETN now and can confirm this.

mining ETN on Nanopool with two rigs of 6 x Vega64 each @24.000H/s+ total using Cast XMR with the Hellæ reg table (pppSoftPowerPlayTable) and unlocked SoC (by changing 2 values in said Hex table at line 00B8) heating my closed balcony with 2650W

Super stable run and forget, NO Hashdrop, approx 1200ETN/24hr gladly paying Devfee
dont care about elec cost as its nominal ($0.04kWh)

details of setup and settings here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2549085.msg25986603#msg25986603

ETH mining total speed 534MH/s, at $1500ETH im switching over
i built these rigs for Ethash and Cryptonight

to mine or not to mine,
is not a question...

anyone can help me on this issue?

I've got 2 vega 64 based miners, both running the exact same hash monitor scripts and xmr stak miners. both running fine with any reboots taken care of by the scripts so it mines just fine/

when i went to one of them, turned on the lcd and copied some files out. it started to fail. it kept saying 1 of the GPUs is not recognised. overdriveNtool says 1 gpu cannot be detected or something.

1 of the vega64's gpu tach lights do not come on at all. reboots, shutdown, changed risers, changed slots, even changed the pcie power connectors.

DDUed the drivers, reinstalled everything, setup the scripts and miners all over again with just the working vegas and ODNT still tells me 1 gpu is invalid

even the hash monitor tells me it stak not ready?

this screenshot came from my home PC with another vega 56. but this PC only has 1 vega installed.

best part is, the other miner (similiar in every sense except it had 1 more vega 64) developed the same issue. but it somehow recovered when I performed the exact same steps above.

Just got my aftermarket vega 56 and it's using hynix memory.
can i still flash it to the manufacturer's vega 64 bios from reference cards? (samsung)

or which vega 64 bios can i flash to?

I'm having the same issue. I purchased a vega 56 red devil which has Hynix memory. I can't find any vega 64 bios with Hynix memory at all, they all have Samsung. Might have to stick with samsung only unless they start making Vega 64s with Hynix later on. Any one else figured out a way to flash a Hynix vega 56 to 64?

Why you need to flash 56 to 64? I just use stock bios and modregistry for 56 and I can get 1925 h/s with core 1375 905w mem 975 900w.

yes,you can flash vega 56(hynix) to 64bios(samsung). do not forget backup stock BIOS!  Wink Wink Wink

also come new wepons.....

No you can't. Some Vega 56s have samsung aswell which work perfectly well. A hynix vega 56 will give you a "SubsystemIDs mismatch" if you try to flash a samsung V64 to a hynix V56.

For the sake of simplicity. I have 3 Vega rigs each with four 56s and four 64s. I don't want to do multiple different overdrive settings for the cards. I want them all to run as 64s and have the exact same settings for ease of troubleshooting and what not.

Yea I know you can apply the powerplay tables without the V64 bios, but this hynix memory seems to be giving me issues compared to the samsung from the founders cards.
