Hashrate 1900 Hash/s

 Memory Clock 1100 MHz

Ok, how did they achieve 1900 H/s using Linux? What driver version and how did they manage to under-volt? Any clue? I'm testing the RX Vega under Linux and it's not that well.

Would be nice if you can share this linux experience. Atm i have problems with vegas and asus h270 prime plus + windows 10. Hashrate drops and after reboot some cards not recognized.

Hi guys.

I got a question, is there anyone here that has managed to combind a rig with both rx 580s and Vega 64 in one rig? I know AMD has issues with stability etc, and i dont want to buy more 580s since they are not very good at cryptonight heavy. I want to start using Vegas.

Thank you.

Yeah you can combine them just fine.

Thank you for the information, ill start buying them  Smiley Smiley they are far more cost effective

I know this is a bit old, but OPs premise is just wrong.  580s (esp w/ 8G mem) are slightly *better* on heavy than v7 (went from ~1.03 to 1.08 KH/s.)  Vegas (except FEs w/ their 16G mem) are significantly *worse* on heavy than v7 (went from 2.15 to 1.65 KH/s)

If you're into heavy, you want 580s.  If you're into v7 or lite, you want vegas.

And mixing is not a problem from a technical standpoint - have plenty of rigs like that.

My best rates for a single card.

Vega 56 drivers 18.8.1 - XMR-Stak - Windows 10 - XMR - Monero CNv7
OC with power play tables and overdriveNTool
Mem 1100
Clock 950
Temp - 55-60c - ambient room temp doesn't help 65-70f
No killowat meter to test power draw , yet.

10s - 1920/hs
60s - 1940/hs
15m - 1950/hs

Results

I started this thread last year and never purchased a vega. Grin

But I got some deals  on this one

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078DZR5YK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I now have 3  and a thread ripper  1920x.

I am doing  1750 x 3 = 5250 + 825 = 6075  using about 770 watts

I stopped using power play tables since 18+ drivers. overdriventool is enough to achieve full hashrate at 165W with vega 64 and modified vega 56.
clock: set to 1600, voltage set to 850mV
mem: set to 1100, voltage set to 860mV
real clock is 1400 to 1500 depending of the card ; real voltage: 885 mV; shown in GPUZ.

4 cards rig is at 700W, system uses roughly 35W

Stopped using power play tables?

Do the 18+ drivers allow you to change voltage on lower P states? As far as i know i've been using the power play tables and overdriventool to keep the power consumption down. Not needing the power play tables is new to me.

Yeh, I've seen this posted a few places about not needing PPT anymore. So if I delete that reg key there's no impact? I don't get that.

What is your modified 56? Did you flash the bios to 64? Love to see your OverdriveNT settings for the 56.

Amd RX Vega is best for cryptonight mining, I can't say about ETH but with cryptonight it can easily archive 2000h/s with castxmr miner.

Hi people, what do you think about this, I have an opportunity to buy 6 Vegas, 6 Rx Vega 56 power color red dragons or 4 Rx Vega 56 red dragon and 2 Rx Vega 64 RED DEVIL they cost 399$ for the red dragons rx 56 and 499$ for the red devils 64, I know that Rx 56 its better price/performance but the 64 can have better resale value and its the RED DEVIL that has better cooling and triple bios, so what do you thing? what would be the difference in mining out of the 2 in different algorithms not only cryptonight?

Vegas are the only profitable choice out there in Gpu mining. I mean truly profitable as there are many other cards which can give you a low profit by mining with them but Vegas are doing great and I think are the only cards to make 0.16 mBTC as a minimum per card daily.

You can buy them now or just wait a little bit as the prices of all graphic cards are going down on ebay very fast , with prices dropping every day. You can build a 6 cards miner cheaper now than it used to be in the beginning of this year.

If you can find 380 dollars for a new one then that is the best you can do. Still it is a great idea to get used Vega cards if that is your only option as they seem to be the most profitable cards at the moment. Either way you can't go wrong with them and if the developers of Monero keep their idea of decentralisation by forking against ASICS like they already did and will continue to do so.
