It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

thought i share my result: 2 x vega 56 asus strix rog with hynix memory. stock bios no soft power edits so the mV change dosnt do anything :p , this is where i hit the wall and cant get higher stable tho. also no idea what wattage.

https://imgur.com/a/ldB3W

I also have many many problems trying to get this particular card to work stable.
Have 4x vega 56 rog strix setup and i can't get it to mine over ~3hrs or so.
Errors i encounter:
  • dpc watchdog
  • both xmr-stak and cast miner freezes (not crashes, just freezes)
  • even "stock" reg file it isn't stable

mines stable, 4 days running, just cant get them to run at 2k each stable, and not sure flashing bios for 100h/s is the way i wanna go

Someone test MSI vega 56 Air boost card in mining Cryptonight algo?
I bought one and standart overclocks to 955mhz memory is lot of errors. maximum is 905mhz without errors and about 1820h/s.
What wrong with this card?
And this card bios is imcompatible with other v64 bioses. And no MSI v64 air boost bioses available for download right now.
Any ideas?

Force flash the V64 bios? Or did you do that and wont boot? For example im using asus custom 290s which now have xfx bioses since they work the best Cheesy You always have the bios switch if something goes wrong.

Yeah. I know about swich and i have powercolor v56 flashed to v64. no problem to get 2000h/s+...
But... No bios available for MSI v56 AIB. MSI v56 AIB is incompatible with other v56 bioses. I think i need MSI v64 AIB bios.
And MSI AIB have different settings to overclock and tune for mining to get 2000hs+-. I cant find them for now.

update:
May be problem with different memory?!
SK Hynix H5VR32ESM4H onboard. no Samsung.

Got an MSI Air Boost V56, does 935/935 hash @ 950 HBM through PPT mods. Draws way less than 150w (130w if hwinfo's anything to go by). XMR-STAK intensity is 1940/1940 IIRC. Ambient temperature usually 65f or lower, cards never go above 57c under those conditions.

I have 2x Asus STRIX V56s and 10x Sapphire Pulses coming in. Think I should just sell them and find some 1080/1080Tis for relatively normal prices? Pretty tired of maintenance and tweaking on the AMD side. It's fun for the first couple cards, then it just becomes burdensome. Alternatively I could just hoard the cash and wait for Volta/Ampere?

I don't think you can. All reference vega 64s use samsung memory, while most if not all aftermarket vega 56s use hynix (only reference 56s use samsung).

I like crypto

That is not bad at all. What PPT mod do you use may I ask? My aftermarket Vega 56 struggles to do more than 930, but at least it does it at under 900mv. How far apart are your cards? Mine are about 5cm due to how thick these coolers are. Probably way too close Sad

Hey there. I use this one mine and works fine for me. Though I do use OverDriveNTool to further lower voltages and thus far not had any issues. Let us know how it goes Smiley

Hi guys, any updates on whether a vega 64 AIRBOOST bios is now available for download online?

My new hynix vega 56 airboost is struggling to compete with earlier vega 56 reference cards that have samsung memory and vega 64 bios mod.

dont exceed 905hz memory and u will get ~1820h/s stable. this is maximum u can get with hynix memory.
