You should go to college. As for my experience, there's a lot of opportunity that awaits if you are a degree holder. It is also an opportunity to learn what you love. College is more than just a way to get a high-paying job, it’s a way to enjoy life and become the person you were meant to be.

The thing is, in this world today, holding a diploma or a degree is very important especially if you're looking at landing a job with decent pay. I mean sometimes, it doesn't even have to be connected with what you've studied for in college, as long as you have a degree, your stock will be boosted in companies you're applying at. So i think it's very important unless you're planning to have your own business.

Wait until you find what you love in life. Then go try to work in that field without a degree- even if it's a janitor at the hospital when you want to be a doctor. A good few months of this will show you if you like the career path before you invest a ton of time, energy, and money.

I would say no unless you want one of the following careers. Something in Science, technology, engineering, or math. I think you could include teaching as a science but for the most part many of the humanities degrees are worthless.

You should go to college and take the course that your hobby and skills applies. Make sure to pick something that is within your interests. Studying is easy when you enjoy what you're doing. Just have fun and don't put any pressure on your self.

I wouldn't say these degrees are worthless but the problem is that the world doesn't need so many people graduating out of their humanity degrees every year. People should consider the job prospects as well, when they enroll for a particular degree.

Hi everyone,

What advice would you give a HS senior in US about to decide on and/or enter college ?

You should go to college, but don't take seriously everything they 'teach' to you, just try to graduate so that you can get a better job.

This question can not give a definite answer. If the author subsequently plans to find work in the office, then he must obtain a higher education. And if he wants to completely withdraw from the government and government money, then he can work on the Internet without education and receive big money

Same here, although the amount was even more. Wasted 4 years and a lot of money. Should have done something else during that time.

Too bad for you both I guess. College years was the best for me I didn't spend as much as yours, not because I'm poor. But instead of complaining, I did what I think is best for my future. I study hard and at the same time I play smart.

Going to college is a good idea. Sometimes you just need a fresh start in life. You need to put away your old habits and your old self, and become the person you were meant to be. That may sound cheesy, but I’ve found it to be true of myself as well as many other people I know. It is especially the case for young people who are transitioning from childhood to adulthood. College is the perfect opportunity to break out of that old shell and become someone totally new.
