Rx470 4gb .... Maybe bad luck, but I don't feel confortable using the adapters again. (the adapters didn't die, they still work if I plug another GPU. I made a short time test)

I dont know about those 1080ti MSI Armor. Seems like its the same cooler as the 1070 ? I dont think that would be sufficient, the fan blades are quite small and there is no high rpm to make up for it.

I have zero interest in the msi Armor models of any type. But the zotac mini will be running starting on this Sunday. I will post results. I will need to use a 850 watt psu vs a 750 watt psu build will be 3 1080 ti's riser free looking like this build 2x 1080 ti 1x 1070 itx this should do: 2000 hash 650 watts vs 1750 hash 550 watts

My zotac mini 1060 is always 70+, no matter where i put it with how much air flow, it is never below that temp.

what do you guys think about blower-fan 1080Ti's ? Good for mining or a risk with the single fan design?
After-market blower fan designs should be OK. All of my R9 290 cards (which soak MORE power than any current-gen card except the Vega and possibly the Titan) are blower-style, and have been running reliable for well over a year now mining ETH or doing DNet work (which loads a card hard enough that it used to be a common "load test" used by a lot of test review sites, right up there with Prime95). FE cards though are known to be marginal on cooling, and definitely worse then the aftermarket cards, especially on the 1080 ti. If you run cards in a case, blower cards are DEFINITELY better in multi-card setups with a VERY few exceptions for some cards with fans but a heatsink where the fins run parallel to the bottom of the card (Sapphire mining RX 470 cards for example, but they need more open of a mounting bracket to actually be BETTER than a blower-style card), for riser-rigs with the ability to spread the cards out a lot blower cards offer no advantage.

for mining I use SMos, not tried nvoc.
But I was thinking abou something simple and secured, maybe for coins management, or trades. This is a time full of scams, hacks, ransomware, spy etc .. It's always good to learn good habits.
I heard about "Tails", anyone use it ? or maybe similar things ?

BW.com hops into to the graphics card mining train with BW-E22 Miner. Any thoughts? Seems quite powerful. It can be found at their Chinese main page. https://www.bw.com/

Absolutely not a waste. My 1070 6 card rigs do 170mh on ETH @ 1200w. Currently earning slightly more than equihash selling on nicehash thats bad actually, with the latest claymore my 1070s are doing 180mhs eth and 2300 sia or 187 eth alone What's the TDP percentage are you running on your 1070gtx cards? Here I've got 2x Galax 1070 ITX running at 75% TDP, the bad side is they suck in memory overclock, above 500MHz+ added instability.

plus don't forget, non-mining cards have resale value to gaming community, while the mining cards.... my group was this close investing in 120 units of the Pandminer last year.... glad that we didn't go ahead with that plan and did DIY instead simply not worth 2899 3 card 1080 ti. Check this out, vega specs finally. http://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-rx-vega-64-56-official-slide-performance-specs-price-leak/Im interested in the vega 56 line up, which is basically a 1070 card but with HBM2 ram for coins like Zcash could be really good. Im really hoping this will turn out to be the mining sweet spot for rig density and price/performance but that all depends how it performs, ETH not good for HBM2 but some of the others could end up being nice.
