I'm the lead dev of booyango https://www.booyango.com. Our focus is on helping professionals find their next opportunity, whether it be a job, freelance gig, contract or franchise. Since we're targeting people who are already employed (although we welcome the temporarily unemployed as well), we're very serious about keeping your information private until you choose to release it. I'm trying to feel out the business community to see whether they'd be interested in the option of purchasing subscriptions for their company in bitcoin. I'm also interested in the possibility of doing a bitcoin two-out-of-three escrow system for our freelance customers to avoid all the hassle and waiting involved in USD escrows.

C++ & Java developer, 13 years working in the finance (banking) sector.
Previously worked with futures/options margining software.
Then front office with Equities & Bond trading.
Then structured products trading on secondary markets.
Currently working with Swift payments, Sepa payments and various interbank formats.

Like most people here.. I'm interested by new the bitcoin/litecoin based software solutions.

I'd like to acquire an intimate knowledge of how bitcoin works,
in particular the bitcoind API... so that i can then implement some interesting software solutions.

I represent a small computer repair business and we have decided to open a side venture to help cancer patients.  What makes this venture different is that we plan to accept bitcoin as well as other gifts to help provide assistance to current and recent cancer sufferers.  We had an employee that went through chemo and had stage 3 cancer when he told me about what he and his family went through it really hit me.  I'll give a little information so you can understand what we've decided to do.  While he's no longer with the company his story has really touched us so here is the "clipping":

He had been working at a factory for over 12 years then it closed due to the recent economic downturn.  He then decided to go back to college in order to make himself more employable.  While he was attending college he found out that he had cancer.  While going over all of the treatment options his oncologist introduced them to an "aid" person that helped them sign up for various programs that should have helped them pay for the massive medical bills that are common for cancer patients.  Needless to say because his wife was working and made a little over 40k/yr they weren't eligible for assistance.  Their insurance covered a lot of their costs though but it didn't help them when it came to covering their bills at home because he was unable to work.  They decided to request a temporary stop on their student loans and mortgage while he was going through chemo and various procedures he had to go through.  While the student loan people were generous their mortgage people were rude and unwilling to help them.  There was something said about how cancer was a long term issue and didn't qualify for any sort of payment assistance.  I'm not sure of the exact nature of the response.  It has been a couple years since I last saw him and heard his story but I've always wanted to do something to help people ever since he told me about everything that went on during his treatment.  Relay for life, the American cancer society, etc.  None of them seemed to really fit.  I asked my boss about what we could do and he was like myself... at a loss so we continued to brainstorm about what we could do.

Fast forward to the past three or so months.  A couple programmer friends and a professor told me about bitcoin after a lengthy discussion about how powerful and efficient GPU's are at password cracking.  It was a very disturbing conversation and one that I wish I had never heard.  But that's neither here nor there.  One of them mentioned token generation/bitcoin and I became very interested.  Over the past few weeks I've been reading the forums and learning about bitcoin and the awesome potential and community that is growing every day.  After some digging and more research I had an eureka moment.  I could support the bitcoin community and also help cancer patients.  After sitting down with the owner we decided to open a website that would take bitcoin gifts as well as sell bitcoin related support equipment such as custom clothing etc.  We also thought it would be a decent idea to offer computer hardware at a discount for people that purchase the gear via bitcoin.  The proceeds will go towards helping people like our former friend and co-worker that were facing foreclosure etc. as a result of having to fight with cancer.

So my boss congratulated me and said, "This is your puppy and I'll help you any way I can.  But it's up to you to make it work."  So with that in mind I decided to post here and get some feedback as well as see if anyone would like to assist me in getting the site up and running.  My boss already bought the domain name and I've applied to bitpay.  Anyhow I'd like to know what you folks think about it and if anyone would want to help then feel free to send me a P.M.

I'm a web developer (mainly HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL but I dabble in other things) with 10 years experience thinking of offering PSD to HTML/CSS (using SASS/Compass) services for BTC. Anyone interested?

I started a Bitcoin / Litecoin "hedge fund": http://www.crypto-finance.com/

It's called Liberty Capital Management, and I currently invest in Bitcoin and Litecoin-denominated exchanges such as http://litecoinglobal.com, bitfunder, btct.co, cryptostocks. I generated a weighted BTC/LTC average profit of 37% the first month, and so far this month I'm at a weighted BTC/LTC average profit of 5.63%.
