If I were to invest right now, I would invest in both. I will invest in bitcoin for long term then altcoins for short term and just for scalping. Then eventually, I will convert it to bitcoin. Though I have some altcoins for long term, I don’t think the majority of altcoin is for long term. They are very volatile and easy to manipulate by whales. I think altcoins would be very profitable for short term trading and can give you great profit if you do it right. Just have a good entry and wxecute your plan. If your profit is hit, then sell partially. Make it a habit to save bitcoin, not just to earn but also to support this technology. In this way, we can show that we really support and trust that bitcoin will dominate the financial market.

You are absolutely right, currently the average altcoin follows bitcoin. if bitcoin increases then altcoin also goes up and not the same as before when altcoin and bitcoin always inversely proportional.

I think both are equally good for investment, but look at the fact that bitcoin is now superior to altcoin, as many people see bitcoin prices are always on the rise and they are choosing bitcoin for long-term investments.

On the long term investment you don't really have the choice , it's either Bitcoin or Eth . Even tho Eth was called the bitcoin killer it didn't really made a huge success because miners sell their mined coins on a daily basis and like that the price won't be able to go high in a fast pace . But Eth really has everything to score a huge success , even one bigger than bitcoin because it got all the features that bitcoin hasn't ! I'm expecting Eth to hugely increase in value in the following year and if i were to invest in something other than bitcoin , Eth would be my optimal choice . Or you could just stick with the original of all cryptos , which is a more reasonable and safer decision .
