I don't have any faith in god, if he sides with these criminals. In many cases, I have seen before my eyes how Catholic nuns ask for forgiveness from the victims for the criminals. Forgiveness can be granted, but only after the criminal gets the punishment which he deserves. It is not like someone raping a little kid and walking free the next day as a result of "forgiveness".

Yes, especially for those crazy serial killers. I think so because it gives the family of the victim some consolation, I guess, because the person who ended the life of their loved one will also have their life ended.

I think anyone who says no when it's a hypothetical question would probably behave very differently if they knew the victim in anyway.

At first I didn't agree with having death penalty. But when you watch the news and see all those fucked up things people do without remorse, most likely you would want them dead too, especially if you're connected to the victims. The only problem is false accusations. Lets say they hang a killer because of manslaughter and after a week later they realized that he wasn't the real killer, well shit. You cant bring the life of that man back. as opposed to just jailing them.

In the situation today , I agree to bring back death penalty. I am not saying that it will totally solve and stop all the crimes that is happening in the country but I think it will be lessen. On the other hand, this law should be well implemented and should undergo due process. People shouldn't be afraid of it unless they've committed such crime.

For me, it will depends on the situation that a certain country facing. If a country face several problems like crimes and using of drugs I will agree in death penalty. Death penalty is a law that should be only given to those who commits massive crime and to those people who are innocent.

No one must be permitted to kill anyone..
Each and everyone of us should live the life to its fullest..
It is disobedience to one of the 10 commandments that: "Thou shall not kill."

I do not, having a criminological background it makes no sense.

The main reasons to have a death penalty is to :-

- Deter people - People are still killing other people, so it is clearly not working. Also during crimes of passion, i don't think people consider the repercussions of their crime.
- Punishment - The family of the offender suffer, and i believe it never really makes it better for the victim's family.

Also you throw in the fact that maybe someone could be wrongfully accused and it is a bad system.

And on top of that, death row is very expensive, more expensive than normal prison. Then there is the whole religious (only god can take life) / humanistic (killing people is wrong in any circumstances) approach and there is nothing good about the D.P.

At first I don't believe that death penalty is a just punishment to criminals but recently some people are just out of their mind doing things unimaginable. Last week I watched the news of a 1-year-old boy being raped by a friend of his father. The baby got lacerations and inflammation in his annal part. Last night, I heard a news again, an uncle who raped his nephew, killed the boy, put him in the luggage and left somewhere. The terrorism and massacres world wide are done by people who have no respect to life and God. So now I believe that we need death penalty in our country.

Going to prison is like a paid vacation for many of the most barbarous criminals. That is one of the reasons why I prefer the death penalty over prison time. The prison system needs to change. Those who go in to the prisons come out as battle-hardened and hardcore criminals. There is no reformation of the character inside the prisons.

I totally agree on this. Justice must be swift! Death penalty should be imposed on heinious crimes like rape, murder and drugs! People are blinded on the grounds of human rights.if you look in the other side, did these perpetrators actually considered human rights before they have consummated the crime? I guess not! So don't give me a reason based on human rights. After all, an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth!

Yes I also agree with death penalty. If someone offends a murder and are convinced that he did the act then he should be hangout in front of the people. So that other will never dare to the sane crime. In Islam, the death penalty was builten to some crimes, just as rape and murder. They give the death penalty to the accused person. So all the society was very calm and prosper due to peace safety.

In many countries, prison conditions are too luxurious for criminals who commit cruel acts against civilians and can even sometimes release them early for good conduct. Secure the society from such crimes can only be executed.

In my country live, a de-facto moratorium on the death penalty is in place for the last one decade or so. And this has led to a sharp rise in violent crime, especially that of murders and rapes. I believe that it is now time to bring back the death sentence.

to some degree yes.... their are so many crimes that really have to be punished with death... drug addicts or pusher are the ones that should be punished with it because of the effect of drug to user.... many children aged 5 and below were being rape.... and even murdered afterwards... so death penalty should be installed....
