The realization of all the use cases and the bright future for WiC means I'm really happy to have found this thread and the chance to monetize wifi in my region.

If its under two cents, it will be a steal small fish traders like me will stand a chance to have a profit against those big investors and also have a chance to monetize wifi.

I was one of the first supporters of Fon.com free wifi network about 10 years ago, I still have a couple of "La Fonera" routers in my office.
I hope this project can have a better success, and much more people can be involved in it. Hopefully only private people, not telco will be involved, so to keep it really decentralized.

That's good to know! We are very confident that we will attract a lot of people and will be successful. We have a huge advantage of being the only players in this market as of now!

Hey, the team is actually bigger than what is posted and only the lead from each department is posted. You might know that making an app (that too this complex) is not a one man job and Deepak is just the development team lead. There are around a total of 12-15 members in the team including full time employees, independent contractors and interns. Thanks!

The project looks very interested but I have one question. The user is awarded 100 WiC per correct password uploaded in order to grow the network initially... Anybody who wants to connect to these networks will have to pay this amount and it will be credited to the original password uploader. How do you plan to prevent abusing public Wi-Fi spots (coffee shop, restaurant, airports etc). There are a lot of spots operated by people not involved in WiC project and without any knowledge about cryptocurrency. One smart guy could visit such spots, submit their passwords into WiC database and earn their money. Is there any limits for number of passwords one person allowed to submit to WiC application?

Hey, Thanks for your question. So firstly, most of the cafes, restaurants etc. that have WiFI for their customers only keep the WiFi open and ask their customers to log in via a web portal and our app won't support this. But yes, the way the app is designed anybody having the password of any network can upload it and earn WiC. But to be on the correct side, we will have a point in our app's terms and conditions that when you upload any password you confirm that you are the owner of that WiFi or have express permission from the owner to upload it. Also, no there is no limit on the number of passwords a user can upload.

I just found out about your project and it sounds very interesting, I will definitely follow your progress! I have a question about your previous answer: Are you planning to get some of those businesses (cafe/restaurant chains) on board or will you rely 100% on the users to extend your network?

Hey, so we are not planning on partnering with cafes or restaurants right now. But we are planning on making strategic partnerships with travel agencies, convenience stores and gas stations (For WiC re-loadable cards) and companies like Airbnb and Uber.
