ok..i will try to do that to see if it is working There's a known wallet bug we're working on, thus far an annoyance requiring -reindex per that troubleshooting guide; still, we want to solve ASAP so we have the team spun up investigating. We think we've isolated the issue and should have resolved soon. KEY POINT: Your ZEN is absolutely safe, this isn't a blockchain issue and it doesn't involve losing any funds...best practice is always to backup your wallat.dat file / private keys. Sorry for the inconvenience! the funds being safe is the most important feature...but please make something with the speed of reindex the blockchain. maybe some temporary saved snapshots of the blockchain for us to use when a blockchain issue is up. i think i have waited almost 1 day for the wallet to sync We've toyed with the idea of a chain and state snapshot to facilitate reindex, but held off on publishing. That said, it's not a bad idea for you to do that yourself after reindex just to have something on hand if the issue happens again. I've had to reindex 3x so far...quite annoying

Makes the sync much faster for new members of community and existing having to reload the chain if that is the feature your talking about im sure the devs here could do it as they seem very skilled, but that would take time of other projects.

the devs have to do something about the difficulty hoppers. we have just seen a block of more than 1 hour. this is something inadmissible. the block 258218 was the one that took more than 1 hour to get solved. why in the hell i would like to mine a coin where someone just collects and makes me mine at 30-40-50% more difficulty than the network really has? i love this coin but we begin to see signs of shitcoin blockchains here.

Any news about the project of making the process of node-setting more easy to achieve for everybody - and not just for computer freaks and nerds?
I am in the same boat as you. Had enough Zen to make a couple of nodes but too scary of trying the guides that i think are to complicated.... I am working on a video series that the goal is to allow anyone with no knowledge to be able to setup a secure node Awesome...how to set up a sec node is probably one of our most frequently asked questions. Will be great to have a high quality video tutorial on it... It would be about time. I am sitting now for months on enough ZEN to make a node but I am on Windows 7 and I didn'y manage so far.

Sure, would not be a problem. The team already put together such a snapshot of chain and state, just held off on publishing. Something to consider for sure, thanks for the suggestion.

Agreed, i'm also frustrated by the high dispersion in block solve times and would like to see this improved. Thanks for pointing out something that i'm sure has bothered plenty of others. Sometimes i find myself staring at the block height waiting for a confirmation and feel like i'm trying to make water boil by staring at the pot. Although some ways off, the blockDAG scaling research we're doing is a promising solution to tighter clustering of block solves, which is also important for reducing pool concentration. Still, we should do something sooner either way.

That is good to hear! Guess it then should be quite easy for the team to get that out and make it easier for new members and existing that needs to reload the chain But off course, easy does not mean fast as it still takes time off other projects

In my opinion, this is the best of the bests -- among all the anonymous coins, it enjoys the state-of-the-art tech, a team with strong background and an ambitious roadmap, I'll be all-in on it!

I am working on a video series that the goal is to allow anyone with no knowledge to be able to setup a secure node That's awesome, really like your videos so sure it will be great Understand secure nodes are only for linux (at least at this stage) so something that assumes limited knowledge with this OS would be useful. I've used linux only a bit and the command functions take a bit of getting used to.
