I've just seen in the past posts mentions of a "zenpub". Sounds intriguing, any links where it's well explained what's that about?
ZenPub is in specifications and planning phase. It's goal is to have a service where people can securely upload documents(think pictures, websites, data) onto ZEN network. Uploader would pay a certain fee in ZEN daily to keep them online. Documents would be hosted on secure nodes and other participants who enroll into the program. Ideally inside the ZenPub we would have our own DNS mapping allowing users to access documents seamlessly via browser. |

Guys I guess I need help with Swing wallet. Updated it to last 0.80.5 version, now the blockchain is not syncing at all, "Network peers: 0 connections". Then I deleted everything in appdata leaving only wallet, .conf and .pem files, hoping to synk from scratch, but the situation remains the same. Zen forum seems to be offline or I can't connect to it.
I will contact developer to hear his instructions in your case, just stay calm and keep your wallet.dat safe. Team migrate content from old domain to new one, so this is why you are experiencing problems to connect to forum. Thanks a lot, I'll be waiting. Do I presume right that I need to keep current .conf and .pem files (win10) as they're needed for proper secure node functioning? I't's been a while since I set it up, can't remember now |

For those interested in ZenPub
ZenPub Distributed Document Publishing System
The ZenPub is a publishing document system , it is decentralized and distributed across the secure node network.
The ZenPub storage is off-chain and is replicated and shared using the secure nodes network topology.
The resource's references are stored into the ZenCash blockchain.
The requirements for a secure node to partecipate to the ZenPub:
1) share an amount of storage (to be defined ?2Gb-10Gb?)
2) install and running a software layer on top of zend
3) ip/port public reachable (this is already a secure node requirement)
ZenPub basic operations
1) a publisher can publish a document, each document is identified like a resource with a unique reference stored in the blockchain (a resource could be also an entire website), the publish feature should be implemented into the Arizen wallet at first (web component, preview easy..)
2) the resource published has 2 addresses associated:
resource balance address =
the publisher pay an amount of zen to this address , this balance is necessary to keep alive the resource, this balance has a daily decrease of a fee that should pay the secure node operators, the fee amount is related to the resource size (in bytes).
Everyone can do a donation for the resource by sending zen to this address.
publisher reward address =
this address is a publisher's address and it's intended to be used to reward the publisher , (everyone that like the resource can donate sending zen to this address)
3) there is a generic address where the people can send the donations, this balance is shared across all the resources when the balance is > of some amount
4) the resource is replicated across the secure nodes network
5) a dns/mapping system is used to map the resource to a regular dns system,
5) with the dns mapping system is possible to use all the resources by a web browser
6) when the "resource balance address" is zero the resource is flagged as offline, (is possible to re-flag the resource as online refilling the balance, and should be defined maximum amount of time with balance = 0 to remove the resource from the secure node network)
The ZenPub software layer is developed as in-house solution, (investigation about Ipfs implementation, distributed fs, persistent data grid)

I'm seeing more posts of people saying their website has more zen wallets, or that their website/online store accepts zen as payments (like the two posts above mine).
Do the zencash team have a spot on their website with accredited/agreed businesses or websites where it is 'safe' to do business in zencash? Or is it a bit of a free for all and anyone can start accepting zen?
We have a merchant directory in progress to add to our website. Excellent thanks. As zencash rolls out for merchant use more broadly, there will be a question as to whether you need to have a checking/accreditation/endorsement process for merchants accepting zen, or if it will be a 'free-for-all anyone can be on the list' type of process. If you're putting merchants up on your website, then you would presumably want to be sure that they are ok, as if there are any issues they would potentially reflect back on zencash. |

Zenpub looks really great... it should be also +$$$ for secure nodes owners because now profits from nodes aren't even funny. ps. my next "motivation and few ideas to the team"  ... still will be the same problem like from beginning... all these changes, upgrades, new great ideas etc are worth only when zencash will be popular. Still no marketing (effective) so price = low, no marketing on very popular pages, profiles (you need places where are hundrets of thousands or millions of people and advertise there - buy paid ads, "news" etc), why no still SEO - search for example best privacy coin - top 5 links even no zencash word... why not advertise on popular places where somebody has authority (for example millionairer mentor on ig etc).... there are much more to do but i wrote it few times earlier. You made secure nodes but market, price almost don't move because of it for zencash.... now will be the same with zenpub if still you will not be smart and use effective marketing (I apologise for words but still your makrketing it is a joke if you want to be popular and interesting coin/platform). Marketing based on conferences and sometimes on not popular (with no authority and traffic) social profiles (twitter campaign etc) = almost no makreting. See your twitter campaign - i clicked randomly on 3 twitter account where people advertise zencash... one of them not exist, rest are even not funny - 2k people for twitter account with no authority,no traffic and you want from such "moves" make zencash more popular? It is joke... You really need somebody in your team who have knowlege where to advertise, where to buy seo marketing (many companies are crap, you need very good seo company to reach many keywords in google and also in youtube... you need to learn even how to send links with keywords to make something for Your brand. popularity on such pages like youtube).... There are so many places where are traffic and where are people. If you have no knowlege, no experience - ask people here or by pm (i also can help and suggest many places or companies which are really the best) - many will help. Good luck! |

I't's been a while since I set it up, can't remember now " Hi, If he has 0 connections I do not think the reason is with the GUI.... maybe you have a network problem or similar. To check this you may try to run zend manually and then see how many connections are reported by zen-cli. If running manually shows connections but the GUI does not, then it is a GUI problem (but I doubt it). " Developer |

Which leads to my next question - can it affect wallet communication with my secure node? Your Secure Node needs only your T address and 42 coins must be in this address (as stake). This is wallet on your pc right ? And it is not directly connected to your node. If the secure node is on the same machine where the GUI wallet is running, then there may be conflicts between the GUI and the secure node. |
