Well, there is no problem in selling personal datas if the user accepts it. The problem if the treatment or the personnal datas and the way they are recolted.

I can imagine it can be quite difficult for the average user to estimate the worth of his data, so a system where the companies have to compete with each other is in the end good for the users.

Nah, I don't think so... It will be too complicated and you could sell your data only once. By marketplace they mean something like eBay of data with unlimited listings
