According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

us players can still withdraw

For now.

but in the end, there's a solution available so I'm not mad Smiley

It's a trust issue. They violated my trust by doing that. Via tor, vpn, carrier pigeon or whatever I no longer trust that PD will not abscond with my coin.

edit: to be clear, until this my trust in them was total. This is a gross violation.

Do you have autism or some sort of issue?  How does this violate trust in any way?  They changed the rules because it is simply not safe to provide business to the United States, as the US government thinks they have jurisdiction over the entire world and will go after people wherever they are (Kim Dotcom in New Zealand, Bryan Micon, etc).  Bitcoin is not illegal in the United States but the US is still one of the riskiest areas to operate a business in if you aren't willing to pay the bribes for permits, licenses, and regulatory compliance.

PrimeDice did not have any control over this. They are simply following the law, and I would be more mad at them if they DIDNT follow the law than actually following it.

It is commonly known that internet gambling in the US is regulated and must be regulated which primedice is not. Primedice banned singapore and australia I think as well, so the US is bnaned too to avoid primedice being completely shut down.

Great while it lasted. So long and thanks for all the fish, I'm done with PD now as a direct result of this bonehead move.

It truly is unfortunate that this had to happen. I predict that other top Bitcoin gaming sites will soon follow suit and US users will end up only having access to less trustworthy options. We appreciate the time you spent with us and hopefully someday the legal situation regarding gambling in jurisdictions such as the US will no longer be so opaque.

I appreciate the direct response. I wish I could stay, that's the kind of thing that makes me like PD.  Sad

It seems illogical but it actually is. If I wanted to start up a site like this, but I lived in Australia, I wouldn't want to have to move homes just to have the site up in the same country as I am. This is clearly against the law in Australia because the IPs are banned, so it is not primedice's choice to ban IPs, it is the law.

I seriously doubt that, as that is a 1/50 chance 4 times in a row. Very unlikely, but it is still possible. Its all provably fair so you can verify each of the 4 bets with the provably fair system, so that you know primedice isn't cheating. And in the past 4 billion bets on primedice, still not a single bet has been cheating.

This is clearly against the law in Australia because the IPs are banned, so it is not primedice's choice to ban IPs, it is the law.

It's also illegal to gamble if you're under 18, therefore everyone on PD is 18. Vos non cogito ergo dumb.
