With POS is says you can not move funds out of your wallet. I've only done POW so POS is new to me, how many coins so I leave in the wallet and how do the coins need to stay in before I can move out what I make. It wasn't clear to me from the OP, but there are good resources explaining how to do it.  Can someone in a basic manner explain TZC POS and if it is worth it? I mean you miner can just have the POS wallet open right, just dedicate a core to it? The "you can't transfer funds out of the POS wallet" has me spooked to do try it.

Thanks!

You need at least 20 Coins to start staking. At the current difficulty you need about 100k-200k Coins to get at least 1 Stake a day. Your coins are not locked you can just go ahead and stake! Smiley - Just leave your wallet open and unlocked and you will automaticly start staking if you have coins which are older than 24h. Please consider to use the config given on the website or the first post here. The triangle on the right lower corner should show staking enabled for x inputs.. Then you are good to go.

Kindly regards,
ChekaZ

If I just leave the mac wallet open is that fine if I have staking on? Or my miner runs ubuntu can I just set it up on here, and not run the VPS server like in the instructions? I don't really understand why I would need a VPS on my linux computer, so I'm wondering if I can get around it but just using the wallet gui and turning on staking like my mac.

Thanks man,
E

i recently started mining this coin and i am very excited to be staking as well, just to make sure everything works fine, i have a few questions.

1. do i need to change the config file for a wallet running on mac? And if so, how can i do that? if i look into the content folder i can not find a config file...
2. do i need to add a second wallet for staking, since i saw a lot of you have wallets named "mining" and "POS" separately? how do you guys "tell" where the staking coins should be awarded/received to?

thanks ahead

I just started staking yesterday on Mac and you just leave your wallet open, see the top of this page of admins clarification.  I haven't recieved anything but I also only have 2k tzc and my computer falls asleep.  May set up a wallet on a linux computer later today, but to my understanding we don't have a config file on mac that needs to be edited.

Sorry to disappoint you, it will probably take a month or so to get stakes with only 2K of coins

Yes that is my address.

Sorry I am new to this. How would I start my wallet with --rescan?
Thank you for your help.

Use CMD, navigate to your Trezarcoinfolder and execute trezarcoin-qt.exe --rescan

Edit: If you need futher help, please join slack.

SOoo I think I messed up during the download of the wallet. I downloaded but i didnt extract the files. Instead I ran the wallet app which opened the wallet. Then I continued to send my TZC from nova to the given address. Any hope of ever getting my TZC?

Thank you for your support.
It's probably windows now? You could search your windows partition for a wallet.dat, it may be that it was created in the temp folder.
Or if you still have the app open, there is an option to backup the wallet.

Yes this is windows. I still don't see my TZC balance in the wallet. I tried to export into a different wallet and still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

--rescan didnt work?

I can't change the file name because I opened the wallet before extracting it from zip file.

Am I hooped guys?

It depends how many blocks you want per day. May need about 200k or more for that, but also depends on luck/difficulty.

Just checked their thread at bitcointalk, very good description of bounty terms and conditions for participants! Like it. If the whole project is managed like this, consider, can trust their team.
Agree, everything was neat and in order in this thread.

ok, so crofly already said that you need a bigger amount to make the stake profitable... but does that also mean that the staking starts at some certain amount of coins in the wallet? because i read here, that it should start after one day up to 16 days no matter how many coins >1? but my wallet still says "no mature coins found" after 2 days...

is this because you can not edit the config file on a mac wallet or did i miss something?

Default is 3 days until coins are mature. I just got a mac recently, so I have to look how it works there. Will update where to place the config file.

why do you need blockchain for this project?

For the same reason you need water if you want a swimming pool.  It is intrinsic to the process.

Are there any 'non blockchain' cryptocurrencies?  There is one - IOTA - based on something they call a 'tangle'.

Other than that, they all are based upon blockchain as far as I can tell.
