To reduce losses because the price falls that cause any bad news of the coin, for the better cut loss and buy again at cheaper price, it is difficult to do it by trader in psychologically because it will predict the price will come back again but cut loss will greatly help reduce the loss if the price falls far from the purchase price and will make up the profit faster than just hold

Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).

I just wait for the price to go back up and back expensive, I believe the price will be more expensive, a coin that has a total supply of each, I often monitor the price and total turnover supply at https://coinmarketcap.com/ from there I get a profit which is very much due to its very accurate info.

What I usually do if prices are falling most specially if the coins are very low, I would buy more coins from a much lower price and your total amount of couns would then be divided; the result would be lesser losses. Read or research on google about books or ebooks on trading.
Yes same with what you are doing because if the price will fall of course i can buy coins and wait until its increase again. All we need is to wait if when the price of bitcoin will rise again. So you better be wise if you dont want to lose your money.

Don't buy too early as the price start falling. See the chart and observe them. as the price started to go up again, then buy them. If you are able to predict the point where it would just go up, that would be great.

will buy more bitcoin and try to wait till rise up again and then sell

The best tactic ever.
It is hard to predict so why not just go with the flow.
But this kind of technique needs a lot of monitoring and there will be times that you wont be able to get a sleep because of the sudden price fluctuations in just minutes of the bitcoin price.

I think the best thing to do is to make sure that you never sell your coins for a loss. Just hold on to your coins and wait until you sell them for a profit. Holding your coins will surely help you earn good profits.

It really depends on your strategy, if you are a holder then this is the easiest path and that is to hold, if you have several other alts then you will need to figure out if the drop in price is only happening in bitcoin or if it is generalized, and finally I do not recommend to short bitcoin unless you are an expert, people have lost fortunes shorting bitcoin.

Altcoins depend in Bitcoin , while Bitcoin itself is independant and having good potential. So maybe its better for you to convert your alts to BTC and just hold your coins and be patient. The price will rise again sooner or later

If the prices are falling i will not sell my investment i will just keep on holding because loses will always be there if i panic and sell my coins. I believe that it will recover it's price in the following days. Another thing i do was to buy more at low price.

I've also invested bitcoin, I think seeing bitcoin prices will be high. but it turned around. bitcoin prices go down and i am confused what to do .. but after i read some bitcoin bitune articles and fluctuate bitcoin prices. I think bitcoin will go up .. it might take time for that, you just be patient with bitcoin. so that in the future will get bitcoin. you should hold bitcoin if bitcoin price drops. bitcoin will increase after the price drops. maybe that's what you can do

Probably do nothing, dont panic, dont sell just hold it for a while. Don't let your emotions drive you crazy, falling of bitcoins is not permanent. It will rise up again and that is the time you want to sell it when the balue rises. But that is also a great time to buy a lot of bitcoins when the price is too low. Because you will have the opportunity to buy it for a lower price then sell it on a hogher price. And thats what you call a business.

If the price of BTC or Alts started to fall try to check first whats the reason of the sudden drop, what I do when this thing happen I check twitter and look for those guys who are very active in posting sharing news and updates about BTC. But there are times when a group of bag holders or those a large sum of alts wants to dump so that market will follow and panic then buy at the bottom.

what do you think about low market cap alcoins? what are they gonna do when BTC price will be falling even more?

If the value will falling down it will be an oppurtunity to buy this coins at the cheapest price to invest or hoard. I will buy atleast the top five of the altcoins at the cheapest price. In trading you should also consider the risk atleast the tolerance but if you are not sure about it then you should invest the amount of what you think you could afford to lose. So if you are afraid of lossing then sell some of your coins and remain only that you could afford to lost.

I think it is better to do nothing when that happens, just hold.  There’s no need to panic because falling of the price really happens but every time it fall it rise up again as always. And when it rise up again then decide if you are going to sell it.

you can't really predict the market.. falling prices is a natural process of all markets and you have unfortunately to ride the wave
it will come back up eventually
Some believing in the rumor and that can be a good sign to predict the future of the market. I mean like some people are believing with the fact that chinese will try to anounce about the banned of the ico.
And for some reason not all of the price falls can be determined as the natural process.
I don’t think so China is going to take this childish step because they themselves are earning great profits with bitcoins and China is acting as the backbone of crypto market. If China in case bans ICOs, they sharp decrease in prices will be observed but that does not mean it would be time to give up on bitcoins.

I do not know why this is so difficult for some people to understand, if you invest in bitcoin or other big crypto at some point the price is going to recover, it may take a long time but you do not sell for a loss, it is that simple especially if you are a long term holder, if you are a short term trader that rule may not apply to you depending on the context.
