bitcoin probably can not technically die or be killed.

If you refer to price, well maybe, this would have some effect on alts, but cryptos as an invention 1 or more will take the majority of the market, maybe 5 of them?

And they will not "die".

I feel, the killer app of BTC is store of value, or more likely.....Access to the Blockspace. Without access to block space you maybe a sort of second class economic citizen or country.

Sovereign countries credit worthiness can easily be established by signing a transaction to show how many BTC they control, which then would make them a better credit risk.

It might crash lower than expected but it wont die, surely all altcoins will suffer from it others may cease to exist and very few will go up in price, but seeing how the altcoin trading its all connected to bitcoin once the price spike everyone will be pulled up or crash. but i am positive that that it wont be worthless.

Maybe it would not kill altcoins, but the idea of having a decentralized currency would lose strength, and that would be enough to make most cryptocurrencies lose more than half of their value.

Now I see no evidence of this happening. If Bitcoin completely gone,
some altcoins will become stronger then ever .I 'm sure  new altcoin will replace it.most peoples will sell btc  to get the new altcoin.

Honestly, I don't think so. Bitcoin is the pioneer yet it doesn't mean that a lot of people will just settle for bitcoin , Alt coins are Alternative therefore, we cannot conclude what will happen in the future, as of now the death of a certain coin is unpredictable, Still bitcoin has a strong support from the community. Death is far away from Bitcoin's progress, we should be hopeful.

What ever happens to bitcoin happens in all altcoins, bitcoin is the fundamental of all of them and the falling down of it might destroy their demand because investors will think that all of them might fail. Only investors decide for them if the investors deny them then there is no reason for it to still exist.
Investors should be knowledgeable enough about cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is just a pioneer of cryptocurrency, a living model for all coins but you should also check for the technicalities here, Bitcoin and other altcoins are not living on the same house or same system therefore if bitcoin dies, bitcoin dies only but not altcoins.

Indeed bitcoin and altcoin relates to its price however it does not necessarily mean that when bitcoin dies (w/c is close to impossible), altcoin will also die. Most likely if we're talking about 'die' as in market cap goes to zero, some other altcoin would take its place.

in my opinion, if bitcoin die altcoin will still exist. The strictest attached altcoin in bitcoin will take over the market. investors from the coin I think will continue to try as hard as possible for the coin to exist.

I think that bitcoin can exist without altcoins, and altcoins can exist without bitcoins.
Of course, a vanishing of bitcoin would bring the price for the altcoins down, I'm not so sure what a vanishing of the altcoins would mean for the price of bitcoin.
I think you could compare it to Dollar and Yen. Remove one of them and it affect the other one, but it would not extinguish it.

i don't know what exactly could happened technically if that scenario happened. but considering bitcoin since first time are feel like the mother of all cryptocurrency it might has a big effect to the market once bitcoin died , i just don't think another coin follows die. the crypto ecosystem has been built so well and strong so far , it's not that easy to make it completely die and disappeared, ethereum / litecoin /dogecoin might could take bitcoin place, who knows right?

I'm in 400,000 euros debt , dont help me , i rather die

Altcoins will not necessarily will die, but its potential will get smaller because altcoins is based on bitcoins. Maybe they will use different that is like bitcoin but it will be hard for those who accepted services to convert altcoins to bitcoins.

How can bitcoin die? If most of the people that are supporting it are the whales and does have a strong belief on this coin. Alt coins can die and everyone can just stay on bitcoin but it's impossible that bitcoin will die and wait it has been dead for so many times if you will trace back it's history and yet look on it's standing today.

If btc down  to 1$, i bet you all altcoin will be worth nothing. When the btc reach the max supply, i think that's the time the new "btc" will appear otherwise btc will still be the holygrail for cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin and altcoin are not connected by its system so if bitcoin will die then altcoins will not die because they have their own system and blockchain so it is not a problem for them to worry for the life of bitcoin because the only thing that matter to them is, bitcoin is the one which is used to buy mostly of the altcoins.
not connected by any sort of network, sure, but they are definitely connected by idea. just them being cryptocurrencies are enough for, lets say, news that damages crypto to cause all of them to dip in value simultaneously. we've actually seen this happen quite recently in fact, when the news broke that china had banned ICO's, the price of bitcoin and alts (the major ones, from what I could see. I dont really care to track prices all that much) dropped a similar amount by percentage. i think it's fair to say that if bitcoin were to be banned worldwide, alts would follow suit. however, this theory does not hold if bitcoin phases out of relevancy from not being scalable, and another alt takes over as the forefront of cryptocurrency.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.
Thank you for your answers.
I also think if bitcoin dies because of loss of attraction and consumers. ETH will take over Bitcoin because we know that ETH is the most popular after Bitcoin. how do you think about that?
I think that it actually might be any alt coin. ICOs are booming at the moment. There will be definitely several good projects within next several years.
To be general - there is always a substitution to everything. People demand will disappear only with humanity lol.

First of all Bitcoin can never be die because bitcoin is not a living thing , it is available in the online internet data where we have demand and also value and as we are with the bitcoin as a basis needs currently , so why it will go down , if any new condition will come then surely the team of the bitcoin will make new change in the bitcoin.
Now come at the main topic that what will happen if bitcoin get die , in my opinion anything will happen then that will be temporary because how much long time people will wait?? , Ofcourse they will adopt new coin as a basic coin to trade .
Most probably Bitcoin cash will take place because bitcoin cash is that part of the virtual currency which is made by the bitcoin team and can full fill the place of the bitcoin easily .
At the end here we should forget all types of waste thinking about the bitcoin because bitcoin is that economical power without which we can't handle the cryptocurrency market easily and it will exists in this world Until the world exists .

For me, if bitcoin dies the altcoin or other coins will also die. The bitcoin is the most popular of then, if the bitcoins dies or not well known the other coins will just be the same like bitcoin slowly dying. Smiley
