In my own opinion, it is a good idea to use bitcoin as payment in taxi but I think it is difficult to identify where country legalize bitcoin. It is a good idea but it takes a long time to apply it. Many bitcoin users will be happy when it approved, they can now pay online. I hope it will approved in my country too.

I hate to see myself replying in this thread but I recall a scene in Mr Robot where Rami asked the cab driver if he accepts bitcoin. Man, that was way too cool. I wish cab drivers here are as freethinker as that on tv.

Bitcoin for taxi is a possible thing and to get into reality everyone needs to be educated about the way it functions and the advantage of having it over traditional payments. Recently an ico for the same cause was developed and was running successfully. When we see digital growth over every sector this will be found effective.

I think if this would happened, there's a lot of problems we encountered, first is if bitcoin isn't known yet in your country, if most people aren't aware of bitcoin they will not accept it as payment for taxi,and second if the bitcoin price will rise it would be a problem for the passengers,and if the price will dip it would be a problem for drivers.

I think due to the volatility of bitcoin, people will hold their bitcoin and save it for their future when the price will skyrocket enough for a fortune. If you spend bitcoin the transaction fee is high and the confirmation takes enough time to be confirm. Maybe a new altcoin will come with stable market value and for the purpose of payments for commodities.

let's not to pay a taxi while bitcoin in my country is still prohibited by government to do transaction directly because bitcoin has not been inaugurated as currency which applies in my country

Yes You can now use Bitcoin payments in taxis. The price for a small transaction can be more or less the same as travel expenses. It is much cheaper to withdraw large amounts of money to a Bank card and pay for taxis and shop at stores. Let's encourage Bitcoin-related companies to develop applications for Bitcoin transactions quickly and easily and not just for taxi business, even for many other industries as well.
