Please add LTC support. Many of us who invested heavily into GPU mining farms have since switched from BTC to scrypt mining, hence seeing scrypt currencies like LTC and NVC would go a long way towards us moving our business from BTC-e (or other exchanges).

Seconded Smiley  I'd love to see Virtex become a LTC exchange in Canada.

We get quite a few requests to add Litecoin to Virtex. Our exchange software is capable of handling Litecoin and it's something we are very interested in adding. It's definitely on our development list, however, we cannot provide a timeline on when it will be added.

Virtex CEO Joseph David is planning a dividend and company update by Sept. 30, if not earlier.

Eagerly awaiting this update... What happened?

With all this tighter verification, i'm guessing fraud really hurt them bad so dividends will be delayed.

Certainly expected a lot more from this update. I expected no dividends but this just appears rushed:S Where's the latest on the merchant API progress? Financials? Shorting? Future milestones? We have to wait 6 months before we here anything more?

A quarter is 3 months. So at most you'll wait 3 months.

http://www.coindesk.com/vault-satoshi-expands-canadian-bitcoin-exchange-market/

Looks like we have some competition. Why is it that this company is able to spring out of nowhere and offer things like interac e-transfers, altcoins, high end API and much lower fees? Now I know that some of this is what caused LiberyBit to fail but these guys appear to have their ducks in a row. Does Virtex have any comments on this new exchange?

We welcome Vault of Satoshi to the business. With more players in the marketplace, we collectively have a better chance of gaining wider acceptance in the established financial sector, which we must engage with in order to operate.

From its beginning, Virtex has gone to great lengths to be proactive with regulators, banks, financial institutions, processors, etc. Despite this proactivity, our experience, especially with respect to funding methods, has been incredibly challenging. We're obviously not alone in this regard.

If a brand new entity can somehow avoid these challenges, it could mean we have entered a new phase of Bitcoin acceptance within Canada's established financial sector. It will be interesting to see what happens.

At least one of the two merchant in your merchant "directory" isn't allowing bitcoin payments.
https://www.cavirtex.com/merchant_directory

For the curious this is the UI cavirtex provide to it's merchant.

The received email,

The process pretty much end there, no way to pay.

Wow, this isn't even close to Bitpay's offering... Why would a merchant decide to use this over Bitpay?
This must be why we still only have two merchants' signed up. Would really love to know what is going on here... Is this really what our share money went towards?:S

Transisto and _mr_e,

Thank you for the feedback. The merchant has informed us that the product page Transisto was on did not have the "Buy with Bitcoin" button at the time. The issue has since been fixed (see image below).

As shopping cart integration is developed, we are providing merchants with basic "Buy with Bitcoin" buttons and custom invoicing functionality. In addition, full API access and documentation are provided for merchants that prefer to do their own customized deployment.

Support for major shopping carts is a critical next step; unfortunately other development urgencies have put us behind schedule on this front, though it remains a very high priority item.

Dont you think it is time to lower your fees again?
Or at least lower your volume to fee ratio
I know im a small fish I do about 400 btc trades per month but even as a share holder I cant use your service for anything besides transferring cnd to btc
Why not make 300btc the volume for .5%
Canada is not that small of a market and I would rather use cavirtex as a storage place for my btc to trade then bitstamp
But I cant because I would lose more money on the trading fees then the cost of an international wire
....

Hi there,

As I'm sure you can appreciate, there are significant costs associated with operating a Bitcoin exchange in Canada. As a result, we are not planning to reduce fees at the present time.

Thank you for your understanding and for your business.
