Something is wrong with virtex..

On my browser the site shows a daily low of 687.50

but when I check the recent trades i see them at 650.

Something seems off.

The Cavirtex twitter feed says bitcoin withdraws have been re-enabled, yet the site itself does not allow it. Last update was 20 hours ago.. any further word on what is going on / ETA on allowing BTC withdraws.

So my account has finally been verified, it only took a couple weeks.  Was thinking about depositing some money to get some Bitcoin, but reading the last couple comments, i'm now nervous to do so.

Maybe I'm just paranoid since the gox thing, but I'm not really a fan of losing money.

Are there any users here that are using them without issues?

I haven't done anything recently, but everytime I've interacted with CaVirtex they've always processed my money quickly (according to their schedule).  I'm sure others will have negative stories (all large services do).

I do know someone who had some issues trying to withdraw some fiat through CaVirtex back when Bitcoins were trending up.  The reason given at the time was excessive demand slowing down the process, which I believe.  They did receive all their money a week or two late, but without having to complain.

To be fair, I haven't had any issues with the service aside from an occasional CAD deposit delay (bank's fault).

I haven't held CAD or BTC in my account for a while, though, mostly due to my own paranoia about losing money. YMMV.

No longer buying/selling Casascius coins. Beware scammers.

Interesting post from a couple days ago, in case anyone here missed it:

(Allegedly) Cavirtex.ca has obtained a Money Services Business License In Canada

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=watchlist

Furthermore, a weeks back Cavirtex responded to me with clarification regarding share registration. They specified how the docs were to be filled in. I followed instructions but haven't heard back yet. Has anyone else been through this yet?

I'm working under the assumption that they're incredibly busy with all they're involved with, but thought the followup email was a good sign.

Anyway, I've always thought Joseph had solid intentions for for taking this company mainstream. Hopefully it's happening and hopefully we'll all be a part of it.

I also got a reply about the share registration documents I submitted. It's been through a few iterations due to a communication disconnect regarding page 3, but I believe they've been accepted now (although I haven't received a confirmation).

Yes, thanks, I am Canadian and I have submitted all the required documents.  I think part of the difficulty comes from the fact that I was signed up there before any of this verification process came into effect.  So my account said it was verified and then suddenly nothing worked for me, but no one said anything at all.
The other problems other are the time zone difference, no clear procedure for dealing with Canadian abroad, and slow customer service.

I just want to pay my credit card bills ha ha ha

It does seem to take a while had affiliate approved and debit card approved before my Cash Verification was Tongue
I just applied for level 3 verification on Vault of Satoshi 36 hours ago, we'll see how long that takes to go through.  Saving an extra 1% on fees every time I trade will be nice too when the verification is approved. I will update when that happens.

Also can't feel bad posting about anything on this thread because it is basically an abandoned thread.  There hasn't been a post from Virtex here in over 2 months.  They should really just close it.

Thought I should follow through with my promise to report back with verification times.  I started the verification process with Vault of Satoshi and Bitfinex on February 14th, bitfinex took 6 days total to complete and Vault of Satoshi took 14 days (the address I entered was in slightly different format to the one printed on the government issued document, thus a delay).  I will also mention that Kraken took about 10 days total for me about 3 months ago.  Cavirtex took 3 months.
No comment of which exchanges are better than others, they all have there specific uses.
Peace.

I'm gonna add my level 1 verification experience with CaVirtex.

I started the procedure on February 13th around 8pm at night when I uploaded my documents and entered my phone number.  They called my on February 21st to verify my account, a call that I missed. So if I would have answered my phone it would have taken 8 days roughly.

They sent me an email asking when the best time to call was.  They called me back on the 24th.

The lady was super nice on the phone and the verification over the phone lasted around 5 minutes.  It took about 15 minutes after the call to get an email saying my account was verified.

*whoops, didn't realize that I mentioned my account was verified. Oh well, this post is a little more detailed.*

I'm a bit curious where you found that news as a watchlist leads towards the topics you watch personally so I can't see the proper thread
Would appreciate if you can link it Smiley

Among other things, CEO Joseph David speaks about VirtEx's recently-acquired MSB licence.

Ya, but I wonder with the talk of their new "strategic investors" if our shares will not be diluted away to nothing.

I cant believe that you guys are still using and trusting an exchange where everyone who works for the exchange uses fake names!

One day this will cost them their spot on top of Canada's bitcoin game.

I mean each and every rep for the company uses an alias. Do you really believe that the names they use are legit?

Also, you cant find any info on Joseph David. No FB, Twitter, ect. It is only an alias, also the address they use is not a real office.. its a POBox. The "call center" they have is actually just some people who work from home probably in their underwear.

I doubt Virtex will be top spot in 2 years from now. I have heard rumors about a new Canadian exchange backed my Canadian entrepreneurs who already have real world experience in the finance space and they are looking to drop a lot of money to build a trustworthy Canadian exchange.

That's just my $0.02

I doubt FINTRAC would let them register as an MSB without identity proof, and their address seems more than just a PO Box:
