when I start investing in altcoin, you should look at their threads, like looking at their white papers, how their projects run and their teams work, and when I know the potential of the coin, I will start investing.

What encourages me to invest in altcoin is the probability of doubling my worth investment just like how bitcoin does it to others who invested to the coin it its early days or when it just started. Since the altcoin project can do such and has a higher probability to do so this is I think the main reason why many individuals tries to invest and trust it in hope of it doing the same thing as what bitcoin have done to its early investors.

I am a crypto enthusiastic and i know a 90% of people here on bitcointalk are as well.
There are a lot of altcoins in the market today. What should one look out for before investing in any altcoin

Project feasibility and real life application.  It encourages investment if people see that the product or service is realistic and essential.  Then, check all other aspects like team composition, partners/customers, whitepapers etc.  Hope this helps.

First of all fast profit from altcoins encourages me as well. But it needs to find good one and do some research about project and team. I'm also enthusiastic about altcoins. I think it's more profitable now then bitcoins or etherium.

It's important to see different aspects:

-What does it offer?
-See a team member
-Check out what kind of information they publish in their social media
-How is the token allocation
-The advisers they have

Normally a good whitepaper will get me interested and make me invest.
Just make sure to check other details as well, having a good white paper is not enough, I have seen white papers longer than a hundred pages and yet very little is explained in those pages, so a long white paper does not necessarily mean a good one, besides scammers are getting better at hiding their intentions and naturally they are putting attention to the white paper as well.
Anyone can just hire a native English speaker to draft a very good and solid whitepaper which is even always the last thing I check before bothering to invest in a project.

Firstly, I always check the team, the works they have done, the possibilities that they can really pull off what they claim from the little summary I have read about the project and then I see what people really are saying about the coin on forums. Whitepaper is always the last thing I check before I finally get convinced enough to invest.

The most important thing to look at is the team behind the project. Would you borrow the CEO your money? Can you trust him? For this you need to do an intensive research. Then you can look at the business facts.

I like to look for something in a trending area like decentralized exchanges or such that have popularity. Then I want to make sure there are not a billion coins or more, lower supply the better generally, then I want to check for buzz on twitter and bitcointalk ANN. Must have quality website, quality team. Lastly I look at the history and chart if available.
The fact there are more coins like it is not necessarily a bad thing the only thing you need to look for is that the coin you are investing has the potential to be the best since there is always a big difference between the best coin and the coin that is not good enough to be the number one coin.

It's pretty easy, the perspective of the company and their bright future. Once you hold some alt coins you are part of the company.
And which is why to always check the team you are leaving your money within the first place. I have seen some whitepapers in the past and man! You just get so happy reading them.

But at the end, it all balls down on the team and how serious they really sound. Scammers are getting good at drafting a very pretty solid ICOs these days. then I always look at the market cap too. Low market cap means more possibility of growing faster.

One thing that encourages me to invest is, An Altcoin must work in the real world!
The project needs to solve a problem and the problem needs to be solved by a solid team, a solid team with experienced members who are willing to work hard.

The altcoin needs a good team and advisors and that team needs to support the project consistently.
And If I can benefit by this product and gain profit will also encourage me to invest.

Usually i look at team\advisors and try to understand the whitepaper. I try to avoid projects that promise you some real-life goods in exchange for their coins, as well as projects that claim to make annual payments to coin holders

Project and Team mostly, but lets not forget that alt coins can jump 400% percent over a week which big coins like Eth and Bitcoin can't do anymore.
You seem experienced, Why is that?

Agreed with this. Most ICOs releasing altcoins are scams nowadays. However, there are still some that's left that are legit and can really give you a return of your investment after its full market release. Therefore, in support of the reply, I agree that you should check the team's background or the company's goals with regards to their long term plan with the coins they are releasing in the market.

My incentive to invest in the Alticoins comes from her market, when an altcoin comens to trigger the values end up attracting the attention of investors, so if you own some of these coins you end up making good money.

First of all I see the project of this altcoin, I see what it can be used for, if the project is interesting I buy some, the risk may be great but it is worth it if that currency increases the values.

The most encouraging thing in altcoins are the rate of coins and the pump which make your profit more then double in may be one week and may be in very short period but it is not compulsory it may be make half your investment so there are chances to earn more profit from it so i think that is why altcoin encourages more.

For me, the reasons that makes me decides to invest in any altcoin is the price value, the roadmap and the supply. It encourages me to invest and even decided for a long term if I see their project is good.

You can try to read between the lines and find out whether the people behind the altcoin are sincere and seriously working on it. That's not that easy and there lots of scams, so most of the times it's guts feeling. Now bitcoin makes it a little easier to get altcoins for a low price.

Even though the project is good, whitepaper is good, roadmap is good, the supply and price value is good, if the people behind it are full of scammers. Then its useless. For me. Checking the background of all the people behind the project is the most important. If they are sincere, have the ability to come up with what they've planned and have real useful project in the future. Then i'm in. Well this only applies for long term investment. BUt if you're a pump and dump trader. Then it doesnt matter if the project has no use at all as long as you make profit
