What encourages you to invest in any altcoin?

It's clear that BTC is cost an arm and a leg. So I cannot buy any BTC at all at the moment, I just want to wait for an potential ICO to get money

I think the first to look out before investing on any altcoin is a product itself, how it will be development & for what this is build for. and the after that I have to look their activity on a social media or forum, how the community was build and how active the developer was, it will make me think to invest on it.

Project and Team mostly, but lets not forget that alt coins can jump 400% percent over a week which big coins like Eth and Bitcoin can't do anymore.

For me it depends more about the tech behind, also to know if its POW/POS/pre-mined/etc.
Now, I am not a a daily trader and what I want is that my investment grows over the time by holding them over a longer period of time. ICOs are a good way to get in, however, with a lot of scam projects, one must do a lot of good research before entering an ICO market.

I usually read whitepaper, understand the tech, look at the team behind it, the companies backing the project etc and make my investments during the dip. Buy the dip and hodl is my mantra

To be honest, I never tried to invest with an altcoin before because I really don't have enough money for investment. As of now, I am earning ethereum because I am working on signature campaigns and they paid me with their tokens and I will trade all of my tokens to turn it into eth. Most of ICOs tokens are compatible to ethereum and I really think that ethereum has a potential to make someone successful holding  it in their wallet.

That's the best thing that any individual should do because if your not doing the research first before entering ICO'S there is a higher possibility that you would encounter scammer.  We are the same I am not also a daily trader, but I always entering ICO's and also hold until the profit goes high.

The effort they are committing to the success of the project and the uniqueness that it is offering. Altcoin these days had to have a strong foundation of members working on their coins to move into top 50 cryptocurrency if you spot some of them with realistic goals, good product and vision, that encourages me to buy some of these earlier for future movements.
