What encourages you to invest in any altcoin?

You can try to read between the lines and find out whether the people behind the altcoin are sincere and seriously working on it. That's not that easy and there lots of scams, so most of the times it's guts feeling. Now bitcoin makes it a little easier to get altcoins for a low price.

Since the choice of coins is very large, I look at coins, which are often discussed in the forum or in telegram chats.  Then I look at these projects, their ideas, roadmaps, product readiness, the team.  In a few days, I look again at this project.  And if I still like it, then I invest in it.

By reading the whitepaper and browsing the Developers site, you can tell a lot. You will see if it has potential be big or if it's another scam. But encouragement comes from the community reviews and forums.

reading carefully the whitepaper and making this as one of the good project that we can actually been seen for then this is as one of the good characteristics of the project or an altcoin to look forward and invest for then make it to be worth it.

I think there are some indicators that encouraged me, includes project, team and the reward I receive. Encouragement could come from team understanding and without a solid team, there's nothing. The reward I receive is the probability of doubling my worth investment, just like how Bitcoin does it to others who invested to the coin in early days.

It depends on the platform, i invest in an ICO once and it is so successful because there is a time that it is about the platform of the project. That is my reason in investing to any altcoins now.

I would look at the development team and check out their LinkedIn profiles to determine their background. Also, I would check their social media channels and see whether they interact with the community and address any problems faced by their supporters. If both these criterias are checked, then I would invest in the altcoin. Also would read the whitepaper of course.

I highly recommend looking for an altcoin backed by business. They are much less volatile and I believe are a safe investment. Many of these coins have nothing behind them so over time they lose value but if a business was backing the coin the coin would always appreciate.

Before investing in any altcoin i think that you could see the project's business plan and check the team. Now it' s more difficult getting gain because there are a lot of project and the first question that i do is: "is blockchain needful to that project?"
