I believe many ICOs are legit but even if how much good or nice project you have but if there where no supporters it would not really be successful so it might cause a scam in some ICOs I guess but there are really scam ICOs from the beginning and we cannot really guess which are which are scam or not. Last year (2017) is considered as a great and incredible year for cryptocurrencies.  Bitcoin community expands and its value pump up and reach beyond everybody's expectation.  Along with the success of bitcoin, different ICOs were launched and pop up like a mushroom in the market.  That's why 2017 is also considered as the year of ICOs. Some ICOs were unable to reach its target and failed to launch their projects but there are still many ICOs who became successful.  Those ICOs were supported by million of investors around the world. Those ICOs are filecoin, tenzos, eos, bancor, status, MobileGo, SONM, Basic Attention Token, Polybius, and Aeternity.  Because of their success, more developers became inspired to develop more coins that will answer the needs of the people.  In the other hand, Those investors who buy their coins during ICO gain large profit out of their investment. More people still believe in ICOs and because of that, I believe that 2018 is another good year for ICOs.
