I cannot get any version past 1.0.0 to work without crashing. I was hoping to try some of the new coins but I'm back to monero. I see in other posts that many are having similar issues. Has anyone been able to get 1.2.0 or later versions working?
Try a little deductive reasoning. In 1.1.0 --intensity was added, play with it until its stable.

Trying to run the new ver 1.3, but on my desktop with only a RX 580 in it, it says compute mode not enabled, but in AMD settings compute mode is enabled. Same thing on rig. I have a 9 card rig with mixture of 570s and 480s, and on both the 570s this version says compute mode not enabled, but again, it is. Version 1.0 ran fine on both machines. Any ideas?

Did you try --forcecompute ?

Did you try --forcecompute ? Yep. It’s always in my startup line. Starting to think it might be card location, as non-compute cards are GPU 0 in both systems.

As a follow up, I switched slots with another non-Polaris card in desktop machine, but have same problem. Version 1.3 says compute mode not enabled. If I go into AMD Settings, compute mode is enabled. If I run Compute Mode Switcher downloaded from BCT, it says compute mode enabled. If I run switch-radeon-gpu that came with Cast download, it says compute mode NOT enabled. If I run switch-radeon-gpu to turn on compute mode, it gives an error that just says "Failed" then restarts the card. If I run Cast v1.0, it appears to run fine as I don't get the red error message "compute mode not enabled".

Try a little deductive reasoning. In 1.1.0 --intensity was added, play with it until its stable. It isn't intensity because I can run 1.1.0 too with intensity settings. Anything past that it crashes before the cards enable. I can copy 1.2.5 or 1.3.0 into the same directory and run it and it crashes before cards init, but with 1.1.0 and below it mines and runs normally. EDIT: I get "Driver version OK", the "openCL" message with the version then the window closes

Been using the latest version since the last 2 days, because of bittube fork.
Config: 3X RX570 4GB, display GPU has a CN v7 kind of bios, the others have an ETH bios. win 10 X64 build 1803, latest AMD driver (18.6.1) Display GPU intensity: 3 (I use the PC while mining), other GPUs: 6 330W at the wall 1920H/s for bittube CN heavy variation.
can you share pls your bat file? i want to try with my rx 570 cards

Another update: Discovered the “compute mode not enabled” error only happens on RX 5xx cards (specifically 2 570s and 1 580). My 480 cards all work fine.

I’m not one to start running DDU and installing different drivers. Its easier just to drop back versions until I find one that works. I’ve been on v1.0 for several months with no problems and thought I’d upgrade to get the newer forked algos. That’s really the only reason I’m trying the newer version.

too hot, look at the fan speeds and card temperatures. set your system up properly hahaha you should seen my other rigs, and the issue displays in the miner. need some serious answers, this only happends on this miner, other miner used to work before i added extra 4GB cards, the miner just freezes at random for older miners, latest miner run but gives this issue and stops mining, new algorythm why would it choose that option?? thats same as saying " im gonna become useless" because thats an option!

You know if you want actual help you should provide all the information you can or just go back to your other miner that "works".

What about support for Alloy (XAO)?
Set the correct perimeters and point it to a Alloy pool. Should just work...

What about support for Alloy (XAO)?
Set the correct perimeters and point it to a Alloy pool. Should just work... I do not think there are such parameters for Alloy. Neither of the 2 heavy algo settings available on Cast seems to work. If you know which one to use please let us know.
