Some altcoin have a future, everything really depends on the market demand because it only interests the investor.

Be patient and not tooo greedy better you make some money than losing it. You can easily loose it the next bear market will come and none of the Twitter/Bitcointalk/youtube traders will see it. You will simply loose the money.

Any hundreds of altcoin in the market but only some of them will have future. Altcoin that have future is altcoin with good in fundamentally, their team who consist of professional and solid people , then aim of the project is interesting and different than others. These altcoin could be ETH, WAVES,DASH,LTC,XMR and OMG.

Obviously some of them are and it would be those who would be able to stay relevant in terms of great idea, some development by the team which includes some big push for the market to use in real life.

Lots of altcoins would die, some already are, some are close to dying but only time can tell. I would really look forward to one day, when we will have real sanity in the market and then see a lot of good coin be gaining entrance.

Really depends on which altcoins you have been holding for 6 months. BTW, all alts have been into accumulation since July end, so you are not alone. Even my bitcoin value has gone down 60%, the bitcoins that i have invested in alts.

Altcoins investment is quite risky at the moment, a specially in the medium/long term. With the btc rally price, you would end up with substantial losses. Fiat wise, you might break even, but I am sure this is something you don't want.

I don't think you should give up on altcoins because of past experiences. Many ICOs will take your money and hold it while they come up with a business plan, and that is if they have something behind the coin. A lot of ICOs don't even have anything behind their coin. To avoid this do your research and take a look at their business plan, usually found in their whitepaper, and also look at their timeline. A good example of an ICO with something behind the coin is Propthereum.io. They are an upcoming asset backed coin. If you are still interested in investing in ICOs, I suggest you check them out. They are expecting a 1566% coin appreciation in a short period of time.

You are already having doubts just for six months? That is the problem with many users here, they want it all fast.
Even the people that I have talked to, they all want it instant.
It takes time but actually you are already taking it long.
Example is ethereum which keeps on moving. If you are really monitoring it then you might have profited a lot now.
It just takes weeks but maybe you came back when the price already went back.

I think altcoin is profitable in a very long term, but you need to pick the right alts to invested in, if you are not going to invest in the correct alt's or to an alt's that has potential, you will not get any profit from storing it.

It takes time but actually you are already taking it long.

I think we should set aside that doubts because it isn't impossible for the altcoins you are holding to reach the desired price that everybody is dreaming of. That's right most of the people who invested with alts really expects quick profit, but its not an appropriate idea for those who has weaker hands who sold their bitcoins in an earlier time. Long term holding is a wise idea for an investments to have brighter future, I believe that those who expects wide will be wealthy person if they will remain calm and within control of their emotions.

I don't really interested in altcoins which have bullshit projects and team. Some team don't care about their projects so that the coin can't develop itself. There are lots of examples like that. However, some altcoins have such a good projects, technology and team and they follow all of the inovasions which can be beneficial for themselves, so this type of coin can have a bright future.

Their are different styles to acquire some of these altcoins. their are altcoins that could be mined, so better find something to be in the pool. It is not as risky as btc pool mining but with the right tech from altcoin developers, you can acquire your own altcoin. the more miners of that altcoin, the higher its value will increase. you could participate in their bounty campaigns before they are released. Yes, because you can avail discount when you are an early investors and if the project has so much potential the ROI can be achieve
