why would someone buy altcoins if he is not a trader nor a cryptocurrency expert? Wise guy has to analyse the market and knows when he should buy bitcoin, or when he should buy a specific altcoin. Of course every man can not do this properly but a wise does not cry when he loses money because of his own incorrect analysis.

So many bears in here. That feels like alt bottom is near to me. I have bought a lot of altcoins today.

Yeah I also bought a lot of coins today, because nobody wants to touch altcoins again. This is a strong bottom signal in my opinion!

It does not mean no one wants to buy altcoins again today, but there are not much traders want to buying altcoins at now.
Because from June till today, the price of Bitcoin and the trend of the altcoin market has proves altcoins can not compete to Bitcoin when the market has strong volatility.

I bought some Bitcoin Cash as it is supported by miners. But the EDA is killing it now.

Would have been much better off just leaving everything in bitcoin. Altcoins suck.

Same thing happened with me, I also entered the altcoin market at the worst time and still continuously losing day by day. I think the altcoin price was bubbled and going through a big correction period . we have to wait long to get profit from it.

I'm hodling.. cut your losses some say but I always invest in coins I want to hodl regardless of price fluctuations. It's why I primarily go for dividend coins. The true value will eventually appear. I use same tactic with stocks and it has been proven to work best for me rather than to trade forth and back. Sure I would have made it good buying btc but I don't believe in it long-term.

Hey, don't worry about that man! I think that all charts of coins is SIN model. No coin always rise up and no coin always drop down. The most important thing is that you must keep patient to identify when you buy or sell. Let use trial and error with a small amount of money to establish a own successful method. Gook luck, bro!

Blame bitcoin gold for this mega alt dump. But same as what happened after bitcoin cash the alt market will quickly recover as people buy up some cheap alts!

We have been similar phases of the market before. That's why it is important to always have a core
holding of Bitcoin. Anyway, just need to wait until Bitcoin gold fork is over and most altcoins start going
 up again.

No don't think like that it isn't anyone's fault it is just how world works people are getting free money just by holding bitcoin so why would they hold altcoins when they are not getting any benefit. If you are not interest in the new coin just buy altcoins now it is really low just hold don't sell in loss

We have thousands of options in altcoins and new ones are being produced daily but only few of them are trusted by investors. As compare to any altcoin, bitcoin gives more profits to its holders in a less time. That is true, bitcoin cannot get doubled in a month.

Now let’s see the present value of eth and bitcoin. It is 340 dollars and 5580 dollar. Even if eth, the best altcoins gets doubled in next month, it profit will be less than what bitcoin can give in this duration.

alts are pretty good for hedging you bitcoin investments. I think that one only needs to have pateience but when you've investd in the right coins then you will make really good profits with them. I mean look at ethereum and it's rally since the beginning of the year. How can you complain about this? I would be very happy if i would have been invested in ETh for the last few months..

That is right. Only invest in good coins such as bitcoin, bitcoin cash or Ethereum.

Do not wish you never bought altcoins, you have to regret you did not sell at the right time, this scenario is well known for every crypto trader who has been in this field since 2016 or earlier, bitcoin is very volatile and all other altcoins are influenced.

Don worry mate it will not be like this for so long. When people got their fork coins to their wallet, they will have 2 option, exchange them to fiat and altcoin. I dont think most of them want to exit to fiaat. So they will start to buy altccoins and altcoin prices star tto jump up. just stay calm.

This is totally wrong attitude!
In my case, I was late on BTC train so next logical step was to invest BTCs which were bought for fiat money, in alt coins which were promising and always will be. If you are disappointed with your personal decisions you have made you cannot blame market.  For me alt-coins are best opportunity for doubling of your portfolio.
Even if you are not an investor or you can join campaigns, sell goods, services for Altcoins which have many advantages over BTC, at lest smaller fee when you do transactions and have better  ROI,  10x is impossible for Bitcoin, but can happen with alts, especially now when fork influencing downtrend. Bounce back will be even better.

If you do not have time for trading it is better just to hold bitcoin. But on altcoins you can get better returns. Obviously higher profit involves higher risk.
But if you do not have much money to invest than you will not become rich from bitcoin but altcoins might be your chance.
