I think the best thing is too hedge ones portfolio, thanks BTC has gone 15x this year so far and is now looking to $20k but assuming one has been hedging ones portfolio when Altcoin market did 25x around August this year, it would have been an exceedingly great year

Don't fret bro, volatility is part of any new project. Just HODL to what you have if you're too late to cut your losses. That's also the reason why you should always do DYOR (do your own research) before investing in something, so that even if the price drops a lot, you're confident that it will go back up due to the fact that you entered a really good project.

if you're looking for suggestions on coins that you can trust for solid fundamentals, try checking out DeepOnion. Price is now recovering since it last dip, and almost hit back ATH, with almost no signs of slowing down. It's an outstanding project as the developers and moderators of their community forum makes 100% sure that investors and members are fully aware of the progress of DeepOnion. Weekly newsletters of the coin development is being sent, with some updates on the crypto market as a whole. There are also regular releases of their wallet software, which includes one of their core feature, called DeepVault. It's basically a notarization service feature built into the wallet's core, and it's really handy for adding authenticity to your documents that can be rechecked from the DeepOnion blockchain. To know more of the coin's features oyu can check out their official website at: https://deeponion.org.

Well, the most important thing is the research you do before and while investing. Check always independent and updated forecasts.

I would have to say libry credits(lbc)as my worst investment,i was one of the fools that bought in at 30k satoshis and the price was going down from it to 2k satoshis. It was my fault because i didnt do enough research to find out that they had only few devs on it and most of them were studnets doint it as freelancing gig(they did eventualy got their stuff togather and started employing full time pro devs and marketing guys) and bought in on the hype.I do still belive in this coin for 2018 year investment but during this year when almost everything was going up lbc was 1 of few that were going down.

Would have been much better off just leaving everything in bitcoin. Altcoins suck.

Bitcoin doesn't dip.  It just takes a break now and then because $1,000,000 is a long way

It's easy to say this after we live the future. Who would have known after March - June altcoin rise Bitcoin will rise more and more? Nobody. Don't regret about past decisions, but learn from them.

Regrets dont resolve anything, better be happy that you are in cryptocurrencies at this early stage. My portfolio diminished in terms of Bitcoin value also for about 80%, but thats life, I decided to split it this way and now I hope for it to grow over time. Nobody could know that Bitcoin would surge this high this fast.

Do the pie. 80% bitcoin and 20%. You buy and trade altcoin to accumulate more bitcoin, take note of that.

oh man, it can't be that bad

just wait a few weeks, BTC will dip back down, capital will flow from BTC back into alt coins...

little time heals all
Well actually the alt market has been dropping vs bitcoin for 4-5 months look at the top 20 coins and zoom out
you dont have to be frustrated because things had just happen.
what you do now is hold your altcoin.for the next year is for them.bitcoin
price will drop for next year after making huge growth this last quarter of 2017

This time I invested to strong alts only, but it doesnt matter I still got wiped out. And btc might be 18k tomorrow. If it doesnt correct all I got was big loss again for holding alts.

Trading in alts is profitable yes, but then bitcoin comea and steals all your earnings. Its quite frustrating.

I created yet again a new plan on how to avoid this next time. Hopefully the Bears will eat btc alive next week. That would be sweet.

Really altcoins, has become long-term investment. But if you look at the bitcoin chart in the same initiation period, we'll see that the bitcoin was crawling too, I think we'll see a lot of altcoins increases.( In the long run )

I though the same thing about alts.If when i droped my first investment on the market,i would stick with btc, which was 2.1k,i would made x8-x9.But in thr way like this, who knew how things will go.Not fair to blame alts or choice that some of us made.In the way like this, with word IF-why i couldnt spend 10$ for bitcoin in 2009:)who knew. Some of the alts still making profit right and fast, but more risky.

I think you should keep calm. All the traders in the world have ever had losses. And that is very normal in business. The most important is finding out the reasons and correct them, you will get success

No one expected x16 from btc in one year. 2017 was the year of surprises. No one expected the so big alts rise in the beggining and tha same from btc in the end
