Zerocoin technology is very powerful. It makes Anoncoin very anonymous. It's great. We really need this. The new website developed by the Anoncoin developer team is fantastic. I appreciate it. It will be very good in the near future Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

This is a short announcement on behalf of me, Meeh and a couple of friends who would like to work on the AnonCoin project.

TLDR;
Meeh and some other developers have started active development on Anoncoin. A new release expected in December. We have a Slack, talk with us here: https://join.slack.com/t/anoncoin/shared_invite/enQtMjU3Njk3MjE3MjM1LTAwZjU5ZmEzYTc0ZTg3ZDkxMGYyY2NlNWFkZGVmOTg1MGJlNTIzOTIxZDQ1YjI4NjFkM2NkZjU5Zjg1YzQ2OTQ

Intro.
Meeh started the project years ago, I've been around and following crypto for a few years. We've been talking about it for a while, but recently we decided to get together with a few more developers to work on Anoncoin again.

The blockchain is running, people are mining, but there has not been any activity on the git repo since June 19. After the delisting on BTC38 trading volume has been very low.

Community.
We would really like to revive the project and hope to see support from the community. There have been lots of people with valuable contributions over the years. Thanks to everyone, and especially the people who have kept the project alive for the last few years!

We will be active on both slack and IRC2P moving forwards. Hopefully, we can also manage to bring the Anoncoin Reddit back to life, it's a good place for new people to learn about the project. A new website is also being worked on.

All of this is suggestions and ideas. We want to hear from everyone with an interest in Anoncoin what they would like to see. We really want to see this project succeed and believe there is a huge potential, especially at this time with Bitcoin making new ATHs over and over and media is writing about cryptocurrencies constantly.

Goals.
In the coming 2 months, we would like to update the current codebase. We are planning to use the Actor Framework. The actor model has advantages with simpler scalability and concurrency. The goal is to have a new release ready in December.

For 2018 we have big plans that we would like to discuss with the community. We would like a new codebase, possibly based on CryptoNote instead of ZeroCoin. We would also like a more egalitarian PoW mining algorithm.

We will write in more detail about development goals in a roadmap soon, but it would be really good to hear what people think first. Talk with us on Slack here: https://join.slack.com/t/anoncoin/shared_invite/enQtMjU3Njk3MjE3MjM1LTAwZjU5ZmEzYTc0ZTg3ZDkxMGYyY2NlNWFkZGVmOTg1MGJlNTIzOTIxZDQ1YjI4NjFkM2NkZjU5Zjg1YzQ2OTQ

We are also at #anoncoin-dev on IRC2P.

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512

The announcement is correct.

I'm back with some devs.

We will start push code to github in a few days.

FYI (maybe of interest when thinking about privacy enhancements for Anoncoin):

@Meeh You might want to proivde a correct PGP Signature.

is this not a correct sig?

No, I don't think so. Did you check the signature and are of the opinion that it is valid?

I'm seeing "This is a HARDFORK build for block 585555" on the latest wallet.

Is that fine?

Wallet syncing and working fine otherwise.

What happened to this project did the development team abandon it entirely or is it still progressing?

It used to be listed on BTC38 are there plans to list it on a bigger exchange than FreiExchange like Yobit or Cryptopia?

It's always good to see AnonCoin getting some attention! When did Freiexchange add ANC? There are still activities in this big coin? It's pure nostalgia AnonCoin, was one of the first coins I had contact in the past year.

It was added there near the end of October. Meeh also got back in October and development has been going on since then.

Project is progressing, Slack is a good way to follow what's going on: https://join.slack.com/t/anoncoin/shared_invite/enQtMjcxMzUxMjk5ODYwLTU0OTJhNmIxNzYyY2JiMzUxOGZhMjYzNmQ3YmViNWM1OWIxZGNlMGY0Zjg1NzdhMDAyZmRiYTFhNTM1OWZiYTU

Planning to reach out to more exchanges as well soon. We will also get back to posting more on social media, find the social media pages on our website.

Clean wallet. You can tell the devs care about this project and aren't messing around.

Tough competition out there, but I'd like to see this one succeed.

I am very noob at programming and I am not doing it well. I downloaded the wallet but the "STA CLR" is not syncing.

I have tryed to download bootstrap in the site to maybe help it but the link is not working there.

Is there some easy guide (for noobs using windows) in order I can make my wallet starts to work?

John McAfee told on twitter: "Anonymous transactions will have the greatest future."

https://twitter.com/officialmcafee/status/941003398215761922

I think is not bad Cheesy

Up until he mentioned Verge as a legitimate privacy project.. IMO, he's lost all credibility as a security researcher for pumping a shitcoin.

Bitcoin has had TOR support since 2011/2012

Anoncoin has had i2p support since what 2014?

I fail to see any innovation in the privacy vertical on the part of the Verge team that would indicate they are an innovator in this space.

I agree. Verge was originally known as dogecoindark and was just a generic coin. Nobody cared to mine it or pay attention to it. Then all of a sudden they change the name say they're adding anonymity and want to pretend the launch circumstances don't matter.

If they wanted dogecoin dark to be a serious project they should have called it something different from the start and implemented the tech from the get go. I don't care what tech they put on that chain because it was not fair launch. Any other chain can implement the same thing.

From day one Anoncoin said: we are a serious coin focused on privacy. It's that simple.
