interesting.

i need a coin with no specific value to be merge mined (into worthlessness!) with bitcoin to keep it alive and humming for utilitarian purpose, namely messaging.

this might or might not be it. i want the valuation ofthe messages to drive the value of the coin at worst, at best, i want it piggybacking bitcoin so it has a very nominal cost to maintain a rigorous service level for everyone.

think with me, peeps.

Why is name and image of a real coin?

While Florence was but a small North Italian Republic, the bankers of the region were so rich, that their coin, the Florin, was the standard form of payment throughout all of renaissance Europe. In other words: What the U.S. Dollar was in the latter half of the 20th century, the Florin was in the renaissance: A universal currency.

BTC is 21st century Florin!!! Cheesy

Good luck!

When does cryptsy add this coin ?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

So you can dump 20,000 FLO's at 0.000006 BTC or less, because of a lack of volume?

An exchange is never first priority. Need places to spend a coin first.

It would be just another coin at Cryptsy. And the "innovation" will be copy-pasted to other coins soon, so nothing that distinguishes it from one of the other 35 coins @ Cryptsy.

I spent all my mined FLO coins on spamming the blockchain Tongue Hope there will be a block explorer soon, so I can read back the messages Tongue

Hashrate and difficulty will drop soon, coin will die, just like the others.

Is there a blockexplorer?

No.

A block explorer should make for interesting reading if it includes the transaction messages.

I think standard block explorer software should work with FLO with little effort. It won't display the messages though. For transactions without messages, the standard version 1 transaction blocks are used. For transactions with a message, version 2 transaction blocks are created. The block explorer will have to be modified to understand those version 2 blocks.

If someone feels like attempting this, I'll throw in a 200 FLO bounty (I know, it's not a lot).

Lol, the block chain is only a megabyte or so at the moment.

In all seriousness, I don't think the messages will have a big impact on the block chain size. A much bigger factor in block chain size is the number of transactions.
