BiblePay already has 8,309 Full Nodes?!
https://c-cex.com/?id=ws&shownodes=bbp

Bitcoin only has 10,737 Full Nodes??
https://coin.dance/nodes

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Full_node

Wow, I don't really know what that means but it sounds impressive!

Quick question, what if I added all these 8309 nodes to my config file? What would happen?
I bet we really do have 1100 full active nodes, because I have 1023 distinct connections here.  Its possible through churning, we had 4000 total.  I dont know where the others came from, probably other nodes from other coins on the same port, as I really doubt we have had more than 4000 though, but yea, thats impressive, and I think part of the reason we have over 1000 is because you have to be a full node to CPU mine, which is nice.

Anyway, you dont ever need more than about 5 seed nodes.  Technically you only need 1, (which is compiled in the wallet).  The code automatically immediately tries to find other peers by going through the first node, and it adds them to peers.dat.  So you end up with hundreds of nodes within an hour anyway and never need another addnode in the config file.

The only time you need a node is if you start fresh in a remote part of the country behind a firewall, with node.biblepay.org maxxed out, at that point you can add a node like inspect.biblepay.org to the config file, and when you start it will cluster quickly from there.

Hey all,

I'm kind of new to this coin but I was wondering if that kind of error was normal in my debug file:

2017-11-12 23:18:22 ERROR: CheckProofOfWork(1): BibleHash does not meet POW level, prevheight 16319.000000 pindexPrev 9784280155fdb4c881ac400be45af3e37b875009960398802b94148e4b9f75de
2017-11-12 23:18:22 ERROR: CheckBlockHeader(): proof of work failed
2017-11-12 23:18:22 Misbehaving: 123.119.22.74:65395 (0 -> 1)

I have quite a lot of these even from my own miners! Tried every version from 1000400 to the latest available and I still seem to be getting those.

Also, the block explorer has been down for quite a while (There was an error. Check your console. blocks)

It means that 123.119 tried to send you a block with a high hash.
Check to see if the same IPs are doing it all the time?

In TestNet, lets see if we have this error in the debug files?

It's not always the same IP. I'm pretty much getting this error every few blocks on all my miners. (I've got about 15  Embarrassed). Some of the IPs are other miners and some of them are coming from my own miners.

How would I go about testing that in testnet? (I'm using Ubuntu).

Yeah, it appears you mined 31 blocks in testnet and then hit this snag again.  What OS bitness and flavor is this?  Ill try to reproduce in testnet.

Thanks a lot dude!  The fix will be in the next version.  There is a boolean error in the miner.

Oh also do you know when we can expect that new version and if every previous version of the miner were affected by this issue?

Could you please pull 1.0.5.7 and see if it fixes it in testnet for you?

EDIT: The miner seemed to be stuck and refused to start so I deleted the blocks and chainstate folders. I seem to be on a different chain now but it seems that I'm also receiving blocks I find not valid from other miners on testnet?

biblepayd stopped running right after that with no other error message in the debug file.

Oh great,  OK I made a change, but let me burn it in overnight.

Alright, Thanks!

I guess we can try again tonight, I made a change and verified it still mines in testnet, could you please see if we fixed the error in testnet, v 1.0.5.8?  Thanks.
If not Ill hit it again tomorrow.

I was googling "is the bible in the blockchain" cause I was wonder if somebody has already encoded the entire bible in the blockchain.

Then I found this.

Lol, if the fulfillment of revelation 13:7 ever has anything to do with a  crypto currency it better not use BiblePay to enslave the world, that would be highly ironical.

Dear Troll,

Source codes are on github. You can keep deleting the truth talked on your "unmoderated" Biblepay topic. I believe the coin is developing super fast. First you wanted us to become a charity on Dash now threatening to fork the coin.

There are lots of projects out there. Click fork on github and call people to join.

I check the topic daily to see what can be done for this coin.

1) Great logo, very hard to forget. Good choice of colors. Using Latin make things interesting and will make people curious to search.
2) Thanks for SSL to connect to pool's website. I feel a bit more safe now.

I believe after the masternodes become online only thing need to be done is, polishing. Making ready for millennials so they will see dashboards on the pool to make sense and understand what is going on.

Euh yeah I was genuinely interested in finding the bible or at least bible verses encoded in the blockchain cause they are hard to erase from there.

Then I found this. I am a Christian and it looks like there is a serious developer behind this bible pay coin.

Is there a good working linux client and is the software safe? I have some keys stored on my linux online machine, not to much but still some.

I am interested in trying out bible pay. Can you still mine it on CPU or did I already mis that boat and now rain is all that is left for me?

Hi there,
I assume you are talking about the wallet and miner?

In all honesty, the easiest way to install on Ubuntu is through the bash script here
https://gist.github.com/anonymous/d1c1d35e3c8f67f5fb2e204479fa5c6b

1. Download that file and extract it somewhere on your machine.
2. Follow the instructions at that site (listed below)
2a) create an account and a worker name here (pool.biblepay.org)
2b) go to the downloaded directory (where you extracted that file)
2c) sudo chmod +x install_biblepay.sh
2d) ./install_biblepay.sh {number of mining threads} {pool worker name}
#    Eg: ./install_biblepay.sh 8 workername

EDIT: If you want to deploy the GUI after that, navigate in a terminal to the folder
$BP_ROOT/biblepay/src/qt

and type the command
./biblepay-qt

(you may need to restart the bbp service before this, I usually just restart my machine directly)

@Rob, I just realized that block explorer - http://biblepay.inspect.network/ stopped update on block 16174... I was checking it two days ago but wallet did not update with latest transfer from pool, then I thought it was delay, then I checked again just now and found that latest block is still 16174 which is two days ago.
