Between the Blocks Forum wants to know if BiblePay is a fork of Gridcoin?
(I know we are a fork of DASH, and the POBh algorithm might be based on Groestlcoin?)

We also got mentioned twice in the Gridcoin community because of our Rosetta@home progress:

Biblepay is not a fork of Gridcoin.  Biblepay has a Distributed-Computing UI which requires the user to enter Rosetta credentials to associate a CPID through a transaction, while Gridcoin uses a "beacon" and is first-come-first-serve (IE first registered CPID claims the CPID in the chain).

Biblepay uses a Sanctuary Quorum, and a daily superblock, while Gridcoin uses Proof-of-stake to embed a research payment in.

To my knowledge, we don't share any of each of the repo's commits.  Gridcoin uses the Neural Network to query RAC in c#, while Biblepay uses Sanctuaries in c++.  Different technologies.  Gridcoin honors credits for *any* boinc project, while we only have Rosetta + WCG.

There are plans to have the latest Wallet version in a Linux repository?
That will accelerate the upgrade on all the users.  Wink
Also, what should Tom add to the website regarding this?

If you want the Ubuntu Binaries linked on the homepage, I think it would be best to link to the Wiki: http://wiki.biblepay.org/Ubuntu_Packages

On this cpid, you did have a span with no UTXOs of 1.15 days:
"41919 [04-21-2018 11:15:33] (1539654 BBP) [TXID=1a5aa68b10844e404ee1cf245ace575dde55fd7969adcd5378c7d35ec28ba8be] ": "0.08",
  "41688 [04-20-2018 07:41:24] (1721373 BBP) [TXID=52c0ef4f3d48214ea5e9f2582f4babff8a470f928fc618a5ed78601b77d65d53] ": "1.15",

meaning that when your 52c0ef utxo ended, it ended as of 04-21-2018 @ 07:41 AM, you had a risk of not being in the superblock quorum (yesterday) between 07:41 and 11:15am, which is a  very real risk (as 4 hours of being omitted is 4/24 of a chance of not being in it).

Obviously thats what happened, since everyone was paid (the superblock had 371 CPIDs) and people are heat mining again.  So the good news is with all the upgrades it appears we are back on track for the time being, until the day of our monthly superblock which we will talk about later this week.

Gagaha, you will have to run the 'exec utxoreport cpid' and see if you ran into a similar issue.

As far as Biblepay-centrals history report, that is not a report of blockchain history, that is a report of sanctuary superblock view history....  That explains why the report shows you staged in that contract, but the winning contract, you two were not in it...

You just need to keep the exec utxoreport span below 1 at all times.

Btw all: the Disaster Recovery mode has changed back to 0, so now the sanctuaries are looking at Task Weight again also.

Ok, by just leaving the wallet with the error open for quite a while, it looks like it sorted itself.
But my balance is wrong. I lost all my previously staked bbp.

If you view the transaction details in the 'Transactions' tab of your wallet, you can see the amount that has been staked with the latest transaction. It takes 6 blocks for the network to recognize your staking amount, so please check again in a few blocks. It should be fine then Smiley
So I have left the wallet running for a good day now, and the balance is still not correct. The stake amount is reduced to current wallet balance.
The adresses still have the right balances from before(staked), and it looks like only the recent transactions are displayed as wallet balance, not the balance in the actual adresses.
Do I have to additionally run some commands to "activate" my old stake balance to get it to appear in my wallet?

How can I upgrade my Linux Ubuntu wallet? I am using ppa:lichtsucher/biblepay repository and I think that the last version there is the 1.1.1.9
Code:
biblepayd is already the newest version (1.1.1.9-xenial1).

There is an official repository?

Edit: I noticed that the link "https://www.Biblepay.org/get-Biblepay/." is broken in the GitHub webpage (https://github.com/biblepay/biblepay)
You should be able to switch between lichtsucher/biblepay and biblepay/stable by changing the apt configs in /etc
Would you mind to explain how? Im not very good with Linux...

Here are the instructions to change the apt config. This will work only if you are switching to the stable branch, because it has the same version numbers. For nightly or for a more systematic approach for stable too, see below for my second set of instructions (recommended).

This is for Ubuntu 16.04, replace "xenial" with "bionic" for 18.04, "artful" for 17.10 or "trusty" for 14.04.

Go to the sources directory, remove the current PPA files and create the file for the new PPA:
Code:
cd /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
sudo rm lichtsucher-ubuntu-biblepay-xenial.list lichtsucher-ubuntu-biblepay-xenial.list.save
sudo touch biblepay-ubuntu-stable-xenial.list

Edit the newly created file biblepay-ubuntu-stable-xenial.list (with vi or nano) and paste this line:
Code:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/biblepay/stable/ubuntu xenial main

Save the file and then just update and upgrade, but be sure to first stop the daemon:
Code:
biblepay-cli stop
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
biblepayd

Or if you just want to upgrade biblepayd package and not all the other system packages, then instead of "sudo apt upgrade" do:
Code:
sudo apt install biblepayd

And here is the systematic method to switch to whichever new PPA, by uninstalling and reinstalling the biblepayd package, but don't worry, the sanctuary will keep running. I recommend this method because the system takes care of the PPA files and you don't manually mess around those files.

After stopping the daemon, remove the current biblepayd package and its PPA:
Code:
biblepay-cli stop
sudo apt purge biblepayd -y
sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:lichtsucher/biblepay -y

Then add the new PPA and install biblepayd again. Choose between ppa:biblepay/stable and ppa:biblepay/nightly:
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:biblepay/stable -y
sudo apt update
sudo apt install biblepayd
biblepayd

That's it.

So the above methods should be one-time only, because of switching to the new repository now. In the future, when there is a new BiblePay version and you need to update, you only need to do these simple steps:
Code:
biblepay-cli stop
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
biblepayd

Or if you just want to upgrade biblepayd package and not all the other system packages, then instead of "sudo apt upgrade" do:
Code:
sudo apt install biblepayd

If the balance in your wallet is not showing correctly you could try a reindex. If that doesn't help, you could try to recover transactions.

My knowledge is limited in this field, so if anyone has a better suggestion, please do tell.

Go to: 'Tools > Wallet Repair' and then choose either 'Rebuild index' or 'Recover transactions 1'.

If the balance in your wallet is not showing correctly you could try a reindex. If that doesn't help, you could try to recover transactions.

My knowledge is limited in this field, so if anyone has a better suggestion, please do tell.

Go to: 'Tools > Wallet Repair' and then choose either 'Rebuild index' or 'Recover transactions 1'.
Thank you! Smiley The recover transactions made everything up to par again! Smiley Smiley Smiley

You're welcome Smiley Glad it worked.

If you want to be in the next superblock, you should probably do a 'exec podcupdate' now. The wallet will do it on it's own of course in due time, but by forcing it now you can hopefully be in the next superblock with the right stakebalance.

I had the Biblepay and Boinc working a few days ago and then it went bonkers on me, trying to get it back going, however, I'm having a weird heat mining issue, at purepool.org, I'm getting the error: Illegal CPID. However, it looks like I got Boinc working again from this link: https://www.biblepay-central.org/en/podc/user/1992969/

Hi leetlezee,

I just added the new error view 2 hours ago, and it seems that it is already working Grin
The error is based on a check of your CPID with with the biblepay client. It looks if it a known CPID and if it has a payment from Rosetta@home tasks in the last 24h.
If not, an error is shown and the work/solution rejected (reason: The same rules as above are required to solve a block, and if you can't solve blocks, you wouldn't help the pool -> no payment Wink ).

Could you send us the output of "exec getboincinfo" from the commandline (linux) or debug console (windows)?

Since this user has 0 magnitude, I think it might be : not being in the prior superblock.  You just have to have accessible magnitude > 0 for the CPID to heat mine on either pool.

Nice feature, it would be helpful to show which worker generated the error as well
I have seen both
Illegal_CPID
Invalid_CPID

But all my clients appear to be functioning ok from what I can tell.  and the cpid was in last nights superblock, and I currently have RAC.

These could be intermittent issues as well, but if I knew the worker I could dig into it further

thanks!

A more detailed description may be helpful as well if possible
