Some fool dumps 97K in MEC, price recovers with 5K of buys. Nice resilience.
need more dumpers to sell me their MEC.

One of my friends cashed in the majority of his scrypt coins (Megacoin and CGB), and bought a Bitcoin miner. Sad  He cashed in the rest of his coins for Bitcoin. I have many years of investing experience, and I believe this was the worst possible time. In my opinion Bitcoin is near the high of a cycle, and the coins he sold were near the low of a cycle. There are a lot of short term thinkers in this game... I would bet it will be quite a while until Bitcoin doubles again. On the other hand, I'm confident we will see Megacoin at many times it's current value soon.

Once the paper wallets, and possibly GUI support for the Megacoin wallet are complete, I think we should revisit the possibility of physical coins. Maybe mobgod can tell us what he needs to get his project back on track. I would certainly be a buyer...  Grin

Bitcoin is starting to look a "bit" precarious. I predicted on this run up it would surpass the old high. But I also believe it will have a big correction at some point in the near future. Price fluctuations are widening, and it just hit $299 on MtGox. When the sell off comes, I expect MEC to rally strong.  Grin

It won't take much for Megacoin to double, or quadruple from here. I guess you haven't been following the news? I figure by the time the new Android wallets, paper wallets, web site and wallet in multiple languages, auction site, fiat exchanges, a few stores, and a "bit" of Kimoto's magic, we are easily looking at 300% to 500% return over the next 6 months. I would much rather have steady earned growth, than a spike due to short term speculation.

Lots of people have jumped on the recent Bitcoin frenzy. You know as well as I do that the bigger the spike, the bigger the coming correction will be. BTC will be a good investment for the long run, but any fool should understand what's happening. We wish you the best, and hope you're smart enough to take some profits before the dump.  Grin

You are delusional. These are worthless things that add nothing to the value of a coin. Not sure if you guys actually believe half the nonsense you post in this thread, or it's just cognitive dissonance manifesting.

Logarithmic chart of bitcoin shows that these gains are legitimate, and nowhere near the parabolic level we saw during earlier bubbles.

Have fun with your sinking ship.

If you think these things don't bring value to a currency...

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but you apparently lack an understanding of the most basic principles of economics.

As I've said before, let's compare notes again in 6 months, or a year from now.  Wink

My background is in stocks and investing. Ask yourself how many investments you have seen in your entire lifetime with a chart like this, that didn't have a major correction soon after?

The bigger the spike, the bigger the correction... Every single time!

Good to see you being as positive and constructive as always Hazard  Roll Eyes

Whether the current BTC price is a bubble or not matters not to the success or not of Megacoin - I hold both so hopefully they both continue to rise steadily. I think what vtr99 was trying to say was the chance or Megacoin growing many more times compared to its current value in a set timeframe compared to Bitcoin is very high. Blue chip stocks usually do not double over night or produce 1000% returns in 6 months. High risk penny stocks can however produce huge return but are riskier.

Cryptocurrencies, especially altcoins, are what we make them - maybe try spending less time being a negative a-hole who adds nothing constructive to the crypto community (apart from Vagina coin and a few other scam type coins) and try making a positive contribution - you might actually enjoy it  Wink

It's not cognitive dissonance, its called optimism, having a positive frame of mind - but I can clearly see that is an attribute you seem to lack.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Bitcoin fan. I just know that there will be profit taking at some point, and there will be a lot of unhappy people that got in at the top.
At the current price Bitcoin needs to hit $600 to double. Megacoin only needs to hit $0.03 cents.
Time will tell who is delusional.  Roll Eyes

MEC volume is still rising over at btc38! 2.7 million Megacoins exchanged in the past 24 hours. Grin

Even more interesting is the comparison to BTC trades...

Your optimism does not affect the fundamentals of a market.

If you think some shitty services that no one really needs like paper wallets and android wallets are gonna boost your wealth by 300%, well I've got some bad news for you...

PS: Both of these things are open source and would take no more than a day to port over to megacoin. What's the holdup? Huh

Actually, it's the things you will be able to buy using your Megacoins via Android, and paper wallets that will boost MEC far beyond 300%. There is no need for these mobile wallets until we have stores,  auction sites, and other innovative ways to spend MEC.  Wink
Many of these should be ready about the same time. Timing, and corresponding services for any release of features is important.  Roll Eyes

Megacoin is not a copy and paste coin, and I don't believe we will be happy with the limited, mediocre functions currently available from a simple port of readily available code.

As for the holdup, have you ever done coding for a Crypto auction site? Maybe you could give our developer a pep talk and tell him how simple it is?
