cryptolife.net/About The altcoin scene right now is the wild west. Bitcointalk is full of various shills trying to sell you whatever coin they have a stake in. Objective, unbiased information is impossible to find. Even the so called “news sites” offer little more than fluff; nothing of real relevance. With over 100 altcoins out there now, the average investor is lost in a sea of uncertainty, and doesn’t know where to begin. Many get tricked by the shills into making poor investment decisions. CryptoLife represents my attempt to inject some sanity back into the altcoin community. This is the most ironic piece of satire I've ever read. You should write for theonion.com

Guest author Jack? Are you seriously writing articles under made-up aliases on your own Wordpress blog? Who is your next guest author, SpongeBob?

I think it's pretty obvious what's going on here. You really think Hazard would devote his life to trying to convince us Megacoin is a poor investment out of the kindness of his heart? He cares about us and our money so much that he spends every waking hour trying to help us?
Normally I'd say he is trying to lower the price so he can buy in cheaper...but it's pretty obvious his mind doesn't work that way. This is basically a witch-hunt because he badmouthed Megacoin from the start, didn't invest in it, chose other coins that failed, and he's bitter. He can't stand to see other people win while he simultaneously loses and has to admit he is wrong. Megacoin could be worth $100/coin and he would still dedicate the better part of his day to trying to pick it apart.
Nobody cares about how smooth the launch went -- maybe it wasn't perfect. I'll be honest -- I wasn't even around for it. In all honesty, things weren't rocking and rolling until the Gravity Well rolled out -- the difficulty formula clearly needed tweaking as well. It's great to see Megacoin adapt -- who cares what was there day 1? If you demand everything to be 100% flawless at launch you're living in fantasy land -- everything needs tweaking. I own an Internet startup and even after 3 years we're tweaking our software daily.
All you have to do is stop and ask, "What could Hazard's motivation be?" We know he isn't just a kind-hearted guy looking out for everybody's best interests. I think sometimes it's an important skill in life to realize when you've lost a battle...and it takes a big man to admit defeat. This guy will never admit defeat...and went as far as creating his own blog where he can talk to himself.
I honestly believe that Hazard believes Megacoin is doomed. I think he's managed to convince himself...and that's fine. But it's clear all he is doing here is wasting his time. Megacoin is squarely #9 in overall market cap...gaining toward #8...and is now the #4 Scrypt coin in market cap. Marketing has been okay...but I think everybody believes in this coin and this dev. I, for one, have been impressed by what this dev has done. There are financial companies starting to buy up Megacoin (and even mine it) along with BTC and LTC -- why would they choose those 3 coins? BTC and LTC simply due to popularity and volume, of course...but obviously they see something in Megacoin as well.
It's not too late to get in, Hazard -- buy 25,000 Megacoins and join us. If things take off...you won't have to be upset. If they don't...you aren't out that much. It's a simple solution and will do wonders for your blood pressure. I don't want you to end up in a padded cell while we're throwing yacht parties.
Absolutely perfect post! Hard to believe there is this much frenzy over something that is only .02 cents each! Go Megacoin!

as soon as MΣC price > BTC price, I'm throwing a mega yacht party and you're all invited! hazard, nothing you've said matters. I repeat: nothing you've said matters. your objections to MΣC don't matter. for every point you've made, my response is: "so what?" and now you've also descended into making insults.. funny to read, but you don't have any useful substantive points to make. just hazardous waste. hey everyone, did you guys see the post I wrote last night? what do you think: hey megacoiners,
we should work to create/develop both the software and the hardware for a debit card (or thumb drive) MΣC transaction authorizer machine to be used for retail stores everywhere.
a machine specifically designed to run a specific operating system (to which access is cryptographically protected from being hacked) tailored to the megacoin network and the secure access of portable password-protected wallets. this machine will have a keyboard interface and a built-in card/drive reader, and have an internet connection limited to ONLY connecting to the MΣC network.
the retailer owns and controls the machine, and customers bring their wallet debit card/drive to make a payment to the retailer.
the retailer inputs the charge amount (MΣC).
the customer connects/swipes his wallet debit card/drive, granting the machine access to his wallet.
the machine then automatically opens the customer's wallet, sets up a megacoin transaction of the charge amount from that wallet to the retailer's wallet, and displays a conformation screen for the customer to accept.
the customer visually verifies the charge amount.
the customer is prompted to type in his wallet password.
the machine verifies that the transaction was successful. (afterward, the machine DOES NOT store the customer's wallet information or password.)
it's important that this be a specific machine that will ONLY access wallet files, and is impossible to tamper or hack. the software must be trustworthy open-source, and would self-destruct if it's ever altered. and any fraudulent fake machine would need to be denied access to the network.
how can we make this happen?
Most retailers wont play the crypto game unless they can immediately exchange the crypto for fiat. before hardware there must be a USD-MEC exchange. yea you might be right, and I agree it's a great idea to work on getting a fiat-MΣC exchange going. but actually, as more retailers everywhere start all getting paid in megacoin, eventually they all could then go spend their MΣC to buy things from other retailers the same way using just MΣC, and the result will be the emergence of a subversive new economy where fiat isn't even necessary. its a terrible idea to have a system with direct access to peoples wallets. it would be better to have to put the coins in the exchange which would then be able to make payments on your behalf. This way you only stand to loose whatever coins you put in the exchange if or when it gets hacked.
that's a good point, but I can see it both ways. if the debit card/drive I carry around with me contains my MΣC "spending wallet" then I can just fill it with however much I feel is safe to carry with me. I could keep my "savings wallet" in a safe place, and transfer from one wallet to the other whenever I need more coins. but yea, linking the machine directly to an online exchange could also be a great idea. No system is 100% secure when its on the internet. Its just the way life is.
well hopefully there's a way to make secure MΣC retail transactions feasible. can we do it?

A government shutdown would do plenty of good. They need to start living within their means like everyone else. Every time I run out of money, I can't just ask for a bigger credit card. These idiotic financial policies are exactly why Bitcoin and Megacoin are so popular.

It will be fun to watch the futures trade down tonight but they will raise the debt ceiling not just this time but many more times in the coming future. Extend and pretend...
