WTF?

The entire site is bugged. It's a pretty horrible trading experience right now.

Edit: Now, it's working as badly as ever again. This is a good thing. :-)

Maybe it would be a good thing in the future to utilize a "paper trading" mirror server of the real thing at Cryptsy to test and shake down all updates there first!

Sorta just like the "FX Trade Practice" demo site at Oanda FX Trade that they use to test all new software updates there before putting them on the live platform at FX Trade, and allow anyone to "paper trade" there. That would be modeling after the leader in the retail Forex (Oanda FX Trade). see https://fxtrade.oanda.com/account/login?account=fxtrade&type=trading_platform

Seems like a smart plan. Works very well for them, usually.

Just something for my favorite Complete Crypto Trading Exchange to seriously consider when they can get caught up with some breathing room and all.

Other Requests @ Cryptsy:
-------------------------------

One thing that would be a great change is for customers to be able to turn off/on the cross-hairs on the charts so that doesn't interfere with reading the charts when one doesn't need or desire them!

Also another great addition would be a way to compare currencies to each other in a more advanced charting section so as to gauge how their doing respective to each other. Maybe being able to compare up to 6 or so currencies in both short and longer term charts would help many get better pictures of what's what. In percentage gains/losses terms (btc, and the major fiat's too, all of them, oops...)

Last thing:
------------

Does anyone know anywhere that offers advanced charting? That would be something I would really be happy to see!

 Patience...  It pay's dividends.

Sadly I don't have much of that either when it comes to bugs in software. I don't think anyone does.

Still the entire 1990's was buggy Online, lol.

Caveat emptor

All excellent feedback thanks!

1 Additional Web front end set up 5 on the way

Massive growth had some pains nothing we cant sort out quickly already compensating with addition equipment and new employees.

#1 complaint has been slow deposits just so everyone knows New users can take up to 1.5x longer to deposit coins. It's based on our trust rating of a user to prevent double spends and other fraud. So overall deposits are working as normal (minus LKY coin)

Thanks to all of you for your support and patience!

I'm glad you guys are working on upgrading the site.

Cryptsy is getting better...however the main issue i'm having is the "log out" bug. It is frustrating to say the least. I'm sure many noobs just give up after a few times this happens. I suspect it is a security mechanism, thanks for keeping our accounts safe! ..hope this is fixed soon! *many thanks!!!

I keep getting logged out, and cannot get addresses to deposit coins. Sorry if this issue is addressed already, hope it gets fixed soon.

Keep getting randomly logged out every few minutes... The hell is going on with this site lately?

Happens to me too. Unfortunately.

Ditto. 2FA seems broken, again, works 1 out of 20 times I'm being logged out per hour.

Getting logged out is very annoying.

Was just going to post similar but you've stated it much more tactfully than I could have managed.

Congrats on the influx of traffic and everything but please get this stuff fixed. Trading under these conditions is a &$%@! frustrating.

I might need a new keyboard soon...

I love cryptsy but they've never prepared for growth well, site takes a shit every time it's happened. I say in this market it's better to overshoot then undershoot, they're gonna lose a lot of potential traders like this.

+1  what is the point of creating some referral scheme when the current level crashes the site. New alt seekers are getting put off by this site. 2 people i told about it just said it seemed broken and impossible to use, lots of ppl like this will not return if they get this kind of first experience.

Come on guys get some help with the tech side of things, this is growing past a one man operation.

Cryptsy is the best exchange design wise by far, the layout and choice of coins makes it way better than everywhere else, but you need to have the hardware support , get some big redundancy or you will damage alts more then help them.

Cryptsy has numerous employees its definitely not a one man operation. Most of the issues with logouts and lag are due to the following:

Quote
The logouts are due to a couple factors no one right answer.
1. Inactivity
2. High traffic load has been booting users
3. In some cases traffic load was so high DDOS protection service has kicked in. We are working with them to prevent this in the future.
4. Some session tweaking vern is doing should help for a bit.
5. Exponential User growth.

Some common questions about the logouts and answers.
1. The new site logs me out all the time? In reality the new site is more efficient at handling sessions the issue is the number of new users has almost doubled in 6 days.
2. What are you doing to fix it? We have already brought up one new server and purchased 5 more servers. We are also looking locally to see if there is a faster option.
3. When will the new servers be up? As soon as we get them in we will add them.

Why is it suddenly so crazy and why didn't you plan for this?
1. We planned for some big growth double in fact. We have had about 8 times that growth
2. Why are so many people signing up?
a. Wall Street Journal
http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304607104579210051252568362
b. NYtimes article http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2013/11/24/in-bitcoins-orbit-rival-virtual-currencies-vie-for-acceptance/?_r=0
c. Closure of competitor MCXnow had over 10000 users many of which have signed up with cryptsy.com
d. New policy by competitor to limit chat based on holdings has brought many users to cryptsy.com.
e. Bitcoin price being over 900 and now over a 1000 has led to MANY new entrants into crypto. We expect TV media to start hitting it hard again causing even more growth.

We at cryptsy.com are working very actively to resolve this. Thanks for your patience and look forward to fixing this issue soon!
