I have no idea what will make Cryptsy work again, but if it means disabling the trading APIs, or disabling autosell, or whatever it takes, please concentrate on getting the most basic functions of the site stable. Many people's crypto investment strategies depend on your site functioning in a stable and predictable way.

Instead of killing off bots---how about rate limiting?

I think it would deter the more annoying behaviors, and lighten the load.

An even better option is paid API request rate tiers. If bots are going to slam the network, let them subsidize the infrastructure necessary to support it

Might have been taken down due to the wallet sync problems. The dev has been awol for 3 months, last check in Aug. 28. Best to probably ask them at their irc support channel.

because cryptsy isnt able to show the BTC value of each coin balance in your balances overview (they just show the sum) i hacked together a simple script which pulls your cryptsy balances and calculates them with the current price to BTC. please have a look here:

Exactly, but instead they do NOTHING.  The site is still screwed, it's beyond a joke now. I can't buy quark for 3 days?? i am missing dips and orders just don't execute. FFS crapsy sort this mess out.

I put in a bunch of sell orders today but the price went over what I wanted but the order never filled instead I just have my coins back in my balance

if I sell now I would only get half the price ( this is not a small amount its over 2btc difference )

they have 1 last chance to sort this or I will be leaving and recommending that everyone does the same I am fed up with this

Unfortunately Crypsty work on the principle of "more is better", more coins, more servers, more simultaneous customers, more open support tickets. It doesn't scale like that, you always reach your level of incompetence at some point.

Keep hearing the excuse that Crapsy wasn't prepared for the volume influx.  Thats all well and good but the fact that they are taking none of the obvious steps to ease the burden like disable api/bots and disable autosell is very frustrating.  The only thing they have disabled is the chat box...so they won't have people swearing like mad no dought.

This mess is very bad for all the new traders who might just give up and forget the whole crypto thing.  Bad for everyone in the long run.

I mean I am quite sure that if I went to a new grocery store and while trying to buy some produce the teller fucked my ass instead I wouldn't go back...

the big issue is that cryptsy is its the main altcoins exchange every time they screw up deposits / withdrawals it can affect all the coins that are on the exchange in a bad way

the other day when the order books got wiped it devalued some coins by 50% and they have still not fully recovered 

They have to fix this ASAP or another exchange will pop up and take all there customers !

also they have been promising a whole bunch of things and very few of them have happened and no news of what's going on

They simply have no clue how to fix this mess obviously, ...i can't think they would leave it like this if they had any other options, they must be losing so much money in fee's. Imagine all the trades that have not actioned.  QRK and LTC markets have been out of action for days. They are big volume markets.

The question now is ....when will another decent exchange start up ?? even if cryptsy can be fixed it is not good to rely on just one exchange.

They are the best we have, but we need many more.
