Update:

First H-boards are off the production line! I'm very happy and excited about this! It's looking like we'll be able to ship everything in time!

http://i43.tinypic.com/24d24gh.jpg

Those look like a different version of the chips (than what was pictured before - e.g. here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=228677.msg2489891#msg2489891)

Are the new chips the same specs as the samples sent before? (and what's different?)

btw can you take a close-up shot of one of the chips - just so we have a nice picture for reference Smiley

These are basically same chips in different package. Also laser marking is a bit different. The 1st batch was saw-type, this is punch-type. We don't expect to see notable difference between the two.

@punin

was there any  change in board measurements between revision v1.1 and v1.2?

H-board (the height and depth): 110 width x 134mm Length (again assuming a little bit of overhang from the listed hole dimensions)  (highest component is 6mm)

so the height was changed in this revision from 137 to 134mm is that right? Does the mounting hole alignment stays the same from the top side?

We need Intron's comments for this. Smiley

130625 v1.0 - prototype
130626 v1.1 - mounting holes added
130704 v1.2 - SMD ferrite bead added in power line

Dimensions for board outline and mounting holes
remained the same for all versions.

Awesome job guys! Congrats!

Any estimates on approximately when the 100TH product will be completed or when kits should start being shipped to customers?

Considering these are marketed as "delivered in August", I am curious, if you do not meet the August delivery time, what will you do?

So does this mean August delivery is guaranteed? If it is not met will customers get compensated?

Regarding the PSU are there any recommendations (full miner with 16 h-boards)?

Are those specifications still valid for the m-board included in the Starter Kit (August)?

  • Compatible with ATX PSU
  • 2 x Ring terminal to Molex-Jr adapter cable

thx.

if this was already answered feel free to link/help ...

You need around 500W psu for full 400Gh/s kit.

I read that thread and apparently the issue occurred because the guy ONLY connected the ATX 24-pin connector to the board but didn't connect the rest of the other connectors to the Avalon board (I ignore what those are).
So the bottom line is connect all the board connectors to distribute the amperage load.

In the case of BF, does anyone know which connectors must be connected to the PSU. I don't seem to see any 24-pin connectors in the m-board layout pics. I think it only has 2 Molex in other to power it, correct?

M-board rev 2 has pci-e connectors, but not rev 1 which should be the one shipped in august.

The rev-1 M-boards should be coming with PCI-e to ring connector adapters, if they end up shipping any of those to end users.  Dave says the 100TH mine is set up to use lab-type PSUs, so they'll be wanting the rev-1 cards.  I guess it will depend on how many of the rev-1 boards they made before they changed the connectors...

Update:

Rev2 M-boards are currently in production, and I really think it's a good idea to ship the units with those as it makes it more plug and play. My original idea was to produce an adapter cable from PCIe to ring connector, but there's small problem: there's no female cable connector for PCIe Molex(!!), only board ones. This would then mean people would need to cut the PCIe cables that came with their ATX PSU or use a different PSU, a path which I don't want to go, because there are too many things that can go wrong with this approach. Also, although we do provide kensington screw terminals on the board, you don't need to use these if you use two PCIe connectors.

I still believe we will be shipping everything as promised, apart from possibly exceeding specs by 25% on the power consumption side. I'm also working together with Foofighter to produce casings for these units, ie. boxes with fans Smiley I have doubts we will have them available in time for August shipments though Sad

I should be getting first M-boards on friday, so if all goes as planned, we would start shipping week 34.

Thank you for your orders and support, we're working hard to get these units in your hands asap!

EDIT: Apparently cablez has found a female PCIe connector. I'll try to get hold of these, so we have a plan b should there be any problems with v2 M-board.

Don't you mean to say the the power consumption is lower than expected?
