BTCat, do you know devs who will be able to work on Primecoin?

Yes, I was contacted by at least one community member that is looking for collaboration. Ok without his permission I will guess he does not mind to share a few quotes to help explain:

".... looking to work with enthusiasts and key players of Primecoin to help in establishing a Primecoin 2.0 network"

"I needed help in finding developers to work with me and to find pool operators who still keep the XPM network alive so that there can be a discussion on testing a modified Primecoin client running the latest Bitcoin code. In short, I am currently working on the viability of Primecoin on the latest code and if possible, I would like to meet other members of the Primecoin community to form a team."

people should be more concerned about this approach on this coin, this is a old way of thinking that you need to continuously work on a coin to make it more valuable. it's defunct idea, primecoin is designed in a really good way, i don't think it needs development just has to be used. the only kind of development would be use cases on top of the coin. though this might not even be necessary, because the way it's designed is designed to be adopted heavily and many people would profit off the adoption, nothing has to be changed, just adopted.

if anything the old dev should make sure any changes are made are made by him, because he actually knows what he's doing he wrote the code, the people who originally wrote the code knows best.

it sounds like people are trying to do things for the sake of doing things, rather than looking at it in any fundamental sense. what reason are you doing it for? (i read a bunch of fear, that has no basis) just put the miners on it up the hash power and adopt the coin, all the problems are solved.

stop trying screw with it.

read the forum i'm picking up on, people who lack ability attempting to modify code they don't really understand, and by the adaption of the coin could totally ruin the coin, it's called Primecoin, for a reason. due to the way it's coded and it's more complex than to let someone come along and try modify it with a limited ability and skill. you'd have to be proper good, and i'm not getting that vibe from what i read here. you'd cause more damage by screwing it.

Its not that easy to manipulate primecoin as most other old coins since it is much better distributed. For other coins "scammers" could easily buy 50% of the coins, do a "relaunch" and dump on the new "investors". I hope this don't happen with primecoin.

if the is no cap on this coin it might need a cap at some point, but only when we see a massive price rise would or should anyone consider a move like this, and i don't think it's any time soon. code in a cap at some point i believe, but no time soon, the only good idea is increase adoption, and use cases, before anyone considers a cap. it's a good coin due to it's maths formula, but i still think it might have to have a cap in the future, because at some point the will be to many. and you will no longer have to keep minting coins, the is a limit to everything.

i get the impression people don't like caps, but at some point you certainly have to cap the supply.

Unless they put Primecoin on a leveraged market, as if it's not capped the only thing that sustains a price is a leveraged market with shorts and longs. thats the only reason not to cap a coin, and also people have to understand the leveraged market therefore you want the majority holds to understand how these markets work to sustain price.

thats the only reason you would not cap the coin, but it's not on a leveraged market currently.

it's basically down to how you understand the coin and how the markets work, as the markets in cryptocurrency don't work the same at the moment therefore is not the same you'd have to have a cap in it's current situation.

I do not think  Primecoin needs cap. Inflation rate will decrease with time. From other side mathematical computations are endless  Smiley  the best marketing strategy is implemetations of various improvements. Coin is not something unchangeable.

I'm looking forward to this.

I feel a coin that produces something useful is a lot better than Bitcoin.
you consider bitcoin useless and empty?

Aside of wallet development we could use tools for merchants to implement XPM on their website. Any more usefull or fun functionality added brings value.
I think in the end most important is to increase the ways XPM can be used and integrated in platforms.

I mean that (day emission)/(whole coin amount in circulation) -> 0 with time. That is why uncapped emission not so serious problem. Then we have >100kk coins +10k coins each day do not influence much.

Is there a place that collects the prime numbers found by Primecoin? Or is it just spinning it's wheels?
